The skinny (which is all the news there is, really) is that there will be a third expansion for Dawn of War called Soulstorm, and it will include the Dark Eldar. This is all we know right now, and it's very speculative, but the news is buzzing around at the moment.

Good news indeed. I will be buying this expansion if DE are included. The DE project was crawling forward slowly anyways.

I sure hope they include Tyranids. They may be tough to implement but they would really add a neat element IMHO to DoW.

Also, I hope they've been able to share with the studio about the DE redesign. I'd hate for the DoW Dark Eldar to look like the current line when the new design isn't that far off. . .but I'm guessing they would have that access.

It would be cool to time the release of the new expansion with the release of the Dark Eldar Codex. Would be a cool multi-channel release.

I wish I were more excited about this but I'm not. I enjoyed the first two games and shared a copy of the tau expansion with a friend, but other than that, the game has been outpaced. Company of Heroes leaves this game horribly behind and the new World in Conflict is just plain awesome.

I've read in several interviews with Relic that Tyranids are not feasible with this game engine, and that we won't be seeing them in Dawn of War. There have been VERY strong hints that we'll see in them in Dawn of War 2 (which hasn't been announced, but they can barely keep their enthusiasm in check), but I'm not holding my breath for this anytime soon. I'd love to see them incorporate all the terrific stuff from Company of Heroes (the Opposing Front expansion comes out next week, btw folks), and with any luck the graphics will be good enough to inspire me to purchase the second video card for my SLI rig.

As much as I love Dawn of War, A fourth expansion isn't needed. As stonefox said, the Company of Heroes Engine is so much cooler and I'm currently drooling how cool Dawn of War 2 will be.

There are the inquisitor flavors... and I think that's about it.

Demiurge and Hrud are vague possibilities as well.

If this is a small expansion, it may only be $20. Winter Assault wasn't all that much.

Apparantely the next issue of Games for Windows will include a first look into Dawn of War: Soulstorm. I know I'll be picking up the magazing as soon as it is released on September 30th.

I've heard the same rumors regarding the Tyranids, although I don't remember where.

If they are saying that tyranids are a no go the next race will probably be witch hunters. Too bad too, I've wanted nids in the game from day one.

No shuma....I've seen screen shots of celestians and other sister items a while ago. Whether it was for an expansion or just a mod(most likely), I dont know. But I do know something was out there or coming...

I wish the Mark of Chaos had taken off as much as Dawn of War. I hate resource management, so MoC was more to my taste.

The Witch Hunters user mod is one of the most amazing looking mods for Dawn of War. Here are some links for the screenshots. I think the Mod is rumored to be released right around Christmas of 2007. I'm really hoping that Relic adds 'Nids as the final race, and leaves the Witch Hunters to this amazing mod.

Strange how the screen shots make Dark Eldar look way cooler than they do in model form. I never use the Dark Eldar Wych models (I use converted Dark Elf Witch Elves) but the screenshots make them look pretty cool.

The Sisters look to be higher res and better detail than the Dark Eldar do.

What's with all the purple stuff? Like glowing on the ground. Note that it's been a while since I played DoW.

Man, I fervently wish they would make plastic Sisters, and that they would look that good. I intend to download that mod, burn it to CD, and then rub it all over my body. That Cannoness is pretty much exactly how I wish the model would look, though the model isn't too shabby.
