Aye, in Vietnam, right Dave? It's not a fantastic idea to use unless you have to, strictly speaking - you irrigated the cut first, right?! Deffo wouldn't be a good plan in the woods...
Having said that, it's a trick I've used myself in the past
p.s. Can't wait for my bottles! I'm getting antsy whenever the postman comes by

Yeah, I have this stuff at home called "Nu Skin" it works kind of like superglue, but it has disinfectant in it and it stings like crazy! Actuall superglue does not sting at all.
And I might use it on my girls if it's a deep cut, because they might actually keep it on, unlike a bandage, that kids like to take off almost imediately to "see" the cut.
And the superglue really only sticks hard to the skin for about 4 to 6 hours, and then it flakes away, and then you have to put on some more. It's good stuff! Try it next time you have a bad cut!
It's ok, I'm not a Doctor, but I play one on TV!

@Vik - Basically, yeah! It's a special glue, obviously, and superglue is NOT the same, for the record, but for some minor scalp wounds glue is still the first line thing - can't use steristrips without shaving off a big patch of hair (patients tend to dislike that ) and it's too thin skin for sutures. So unless you want staples, glue's the way to go! The wound is CLEANED first though, which is the important bit. EMPHASISE EMPHASISE EMPHASISE

For the record, I am not kidding about putting superglue in a wound.
I thought it would hurt like the stuff I was talking about, and never put it my first aid kit before. I was ready for it to hurt like a son of a gun, but it didn't hurt at all. Yes, I did clean it first. Mostly because it was a used hobby knife that I got cut with.
But I even held the cut open, put the glue in it, and then held the cut closed tight until the glue dried. When it starts to flake off I put on some more.
I also know a guy who takes tampons with him hunting. You never know when you'll get a gunshot wound! I have this powder from an actual first aid kit, that is supposed to seal up large wounds, but I hear it hurts a lot!
Anyway, all I can say is try it on a not-too-serious cut, and see what you think.

now i expect one clever guy at tampax or another company like that to write some wording on those packages like: do not use for gun amunition even if shape might be similar...

I assume we're still talking about Hobby related first aid: so no derailing here.
Not sure I would want to use the stapler, even or a very serious wound...but it's good to know it's out there!
If you all want I can take a picture of my wound with and without the superglue....for medical sake.

Sounds like you do not feel it as it burns with super-glue in wounds.
Hmm skin stapler for emergency closure, and Jake that sounds like the old WW-II sulfa powder more for helping sterilize and clot the wound.

Well, all I know about the superglue is what I have seen and felt. If I leave the wound alone, nothing on it, it hurts a lot. If I put the superglue in the wound and hold it closed, it does not hurt at all.
I don't know much about the wound powder, but I got it out of a brand new first aid kit. And I'm taking it when I go camping and hunting, along with the superglue.

Thanks Dave. So I guess there may be a problem with skin irritation, and possible burns if used in a large quantity. But still ,unless you try it, you won't know if it irritates your skin when used this way. And I did only recommend it for cuts, not large wounds.
I'll "stick" with it. Like I said it doesn't sting like the "medically approved" version. And there has been no redness, wether due to irritation or infection. So, for gun-shot wounds, go to the hospital or use a Tampon. For large knife wounds, go to the hospital or use a stapler, but for small hobby knife related cuts, superglue might work for you! Unless of course you know that it irritates your skin. Then use a band-aid.
This concludes the Medical portion of this discussion. I should have some sculpting related picture to show for tomorrow.
Thank you.

Hmmmm. I'll look into that. I have used GS on leaky pipes, so it might work!
OK, time for updates!
A little progress on the Heresy Invesitigator:
A shot of what the brown tinted bottles look like:
I think these will look pretty good as root beer or domestic American beer bottles.
And progress on the Chaotic Power Claw:

And a shot next to a GW Chaos Champion's Power Fist for size comparison:
On the fist, I'm trying to figure out if the edging on the back of the fist should go all the way around the fist, or just on the back. Any opinions?
I just need to finish making some armor plates for the arm of the power claw, and it should be good to go! After I have made some copies, I want to make some variants with different arm and finger poses. Right now, it's just posed to kind of hang relaxed to the side.
Thanks for stopping by,
RSJake

the poerfist looks very good...
with edging... do you mean the ornamental stuff...those poity bitz? i would do that all way around if i was you...
as for the pose... i like it better than the "referrence" bit too...because...
i am fed up with all those pointing fingers... yours looks very lazy and relaxed... in fact a dainty power claw...that is something new... and for me it suits the chaosy theme pretty well... not too much flexing of muscles when you don´t have to...after all ther lolylists are too stiff all the time so they are always cramped looking......gosh i have heretical feelings...*shudders...*
that arm of your investigator , the right one...looks interesting...there seems to be some armor plates developing there...
the fist also look very promising...
what currently gives me some issues is the rather thin looking left arm... and the connection to the shoulderpad and the torso... there is something that needs more "flesh" to it...

Thanks Guys!
Scarper, that is a rediculous customs fee! I am outraged! I'm not going to do anything about it, but I am outraged!
Shas - She's not very modest, no, but made according to the clients wishes. Also, the arms are supposed to NOT be symetrical, as per the client. I even told the client when it was in the concept stage that the asymetry is going to play havoc with my mild OCD. (CDO).
Vik - Thanks, yes the ornamental stuff. I will add it and see how it looks. Yeah, I like to pose too, I feel it would work great for a squad leader who was shooting with his left hand, and had the right hand down at the side. There will be more "flexing" alternate poses, but I like this one.
The investigator's right arm is getting some armor plating added, still WIP. The left shoulder does look a bit odd, but it is only tacked on, and I think the tack was slipping a bit. Also the arm is supposed to be bare, but there will be power cables and stuff to bulk it up once I get the power fist done. I just wanted the bare arm to look good before I added stuff. And I think it looks pretty good.
Thanks Shas! I'll keep that pic for inspiration, but the final call is up to the client. So, we'll see.
