Yes, I could definately see a Zteentch commander doing just that! As a matter of fact, I need to make a Chaos Lord doing just that!

And hopefully, the fist can be removed and possitioned in different ways to be doing different things, like cupped and holding a skull, or to the side and swiping at an enemy....something like that.

That Power Claw is excellent work! I haven't been here in a while, I had no idea you were casting. The bottle are neat, and the old-time guns you made would be great for Scavvy or Ratskins.

I got some more molds made last night, the "Sniper" skull helmet production mold came out great, so I should be getting those available for sale pretty soon!

I'll get a picture of the actuall sprue tonight.

I am also almost done with the mold for the skull laiden vehicle extra armor plates, so we'll see if those come out well, and then I will need to make a production mold for that as well.
This one, with skulls on it, and I made my own spikes instead of using the ones from the Chaos Terminators.

I forgot to take a picture of the finished product before I made the mold, so I should get it out of the mold and I can take a picture tonight.

Other than that I have started converting some Possessed Chaos Marine heads to have Khorne Bunny ears, and when I get those further along, I'll post those on my World Eaters thread, but that might be a few days at least. I am getting these going again, because I was contacted yesterday by some local gamers, right here in Montana! Who knew! So I want to get my army playable, and see if my wargamming skills are up to snuff!

Dangit, that means getting my Rhinos in working order too.

since i already own that assassin´s head i can attest that this is a stunning bit...! the cool shaped yet odd antenna adds a ton of coolness to the head!

i like them there spikey bits. that would make for a good diorama. well at least in my mind it looks cool.

Dave, sorry, but those are the spikes off of the old Chaos Terminators, and I can't reproduce them, and they are about 10mm long, I don't think they would make good fences. But I can make some for you, just give me the dimentions you are looking for, style and description.

And that picture was a starting point, I was just going to make 4 of these armor plates for one Rhino, but then I thought, well, if I make the spikes myself, I can reproduce them, and make them for all of my rhinos, and maybe sell some too! Bonus!

So, I made my own spikes, and added skulls, and cast them. This is what the original looks like:


And this is the resin copy:


I'll try to get one painted up soon, so you can see what it looks like painted.

Also, here is the sprue of the sniper skull helmets:


There is a little flash, but it's not bad. I have 30 of these to make for the client, then I can offer them for sale.

Those skulls for th rhino have come out real nice!

I'm normaly not a fan of skulls but I kinda would like to see those plates almost overflowing with them!

Silver, Thanks! I was going to add more skulls to the plates, but that would have covered up the rivets!

I made them to fit the Mk I Rhinos I am using, but I am sure they would fit on a newer one. I have a newer Rhino, I will have to see if they go with it or not.

But I will keep spitting theses plates out and get some painted up and put on my as-yet unpainted Rhino, I need to get it painted up too.

Wow. The turnaround time from concept to cast was short! And the end product is excellent! When those go up for sale I have to buy a few.

The helmets? Or the Armor Plates?

Man I can't tell you how excited I am to see your stuff Jake! For the flash, I'd bet if you just got an old battery-powered toothbrush it would be enough to clean all of that off. What do they do in the pro shops to eliminate that? Some sort of compression clamp on the mold?

Dave, thanks! You mean there are pro shops that make resin casts without any flash? Hmmmm.

The flash on these helmets with come off if you blow on it hard enough. I do use compression (rubber bands) to hold the mold halves together, and what flash there is one this is just from the resin being pressed into every possible nook and cranny by the pressure pot. I'm not worried about it, I'll clean it off before I send it out.

I do have some other molds that get thicker flash, the armor plate for instance. It was my first pour for it, but it did bulge a bit in the middle. next time I will use some clamps to keep it pressed together while in the pot. (the problem with the clamps is they take up room in the pressure pot.)

I am learning as I go, and this stuff is tricky, but I like it. It's fun.

And, did you read the bit about the fence posts? I just need some info on what you are looking for.

(without the rounded safety tip, of course) Maybe 2 inches high, with a fat square base, riveted like the top bit.



I could make the master of the post pretty easily, if you can sculpt the spikey part!

Cool! Yeah, if you want to make the master posts (becuase, let's face it, you are a master at stuff like that), I'll sculpt the tips and cast it. I can even make lots and lots of little rivets all over it!
