The TARDIS is bigger on the inside, that is why the door open in (and the handle is on the right) Either way..that is a badass freebie!!

The Tardis wasn't a freebie, just the "candy". And the handle I was talking about is the one circled in red. It is awesome though!

I can see some people liking the candy though, I mean it tastes a little like black liquerice, but I don't like that stuff either.

So, I did a quick concept sketch and want to run it by you all. I want to stess this is ROUGH, just to get an idea of where I want to go from here.

The Female Tech Priest from gendoikari87's description (armor, robes, pony tail, a lightsbare-like sword, and a single tail-like mechandrite):


As for the Monster Hunter, I already have a vision in mind, and I will see where that takes me.

The problem I see with this action pose is, will the action translate into the model without the "Swoosh Lines"? (That's a technical art term by the way.)

Oh..you'll tweak it to make it work! That's a classic SM pose already..it works!

I definatly like the sketch, although it dosent scream techpriest to me, i think what it needs is some sort of mantle, i like it without the hood, but i think that it will help it with the tech feel.. and maybie some techy medalions or such

Oh, there will be swoosh lines, you just let me handle the B side. I've already picked out the victim of choice and started crafting a batch of blood.

also, I think I know what i'm going to use her as: Inquisitor valeria.

If you want a model with that 'swoosh' feeling, angle the wrist a little so the sword blade isn't being held straight out from the hand, and is 'dragging' back towards where the swing came from.

Rogue is right, she's not that tech priest-y, but isn't that the way you want it gendoikari87?

I'm sure I can add some optional equipment after the final sculpt is done, for those who want her to look more techy.

But from the fluff of the character he wanted her based on, she shouldn't be overly techy, as she is not a full-fledged tech priest.

But like I said, I can make an alternate head, and maybe a servo harness that can be optional.

Like the monster hunter, that is just something that I fell in love with after it was mentioned on here, it's not for a commission.

And the Schoolgirls, those aren't commission either, just something I really want to do! (sculpting them that is.)

I have more commissions in the works than I have time for, but I will get to them.

Now if you ever get bored of sculpting ladies (which i doubt), i'd be interested in seeing you sculpt a sort of tyranid/lady hybrid - like Kerrigan from Starcraft, could give you some practice in different kinds of sculpting tecniques

I think you should model the actual swoosh lines.

Shapeways is a company that does VERY high quality 3d printing. Jin and I had some bases printed by them, and they came out really well. He CADed them up, sent them the file, and a week or two later he was 10$ poorer and I had 3 bases in the PP sizes to cast. Works well if you are good at 3d design, or have a 3d scanner, which is really spendy, though I am told you can make them from Kinects in some strange steampunk fashion. Should be right up your alley Jake

Rogue - I think that is an extremely good idea! Not exactly getting away from females, it would add some different aspects.

I have gotten out of my comfort zone though, I did (and I am still working on) the male centaurs for Wehrkind, I am currently working on re-making Kharn the Betrayer (only a conversion, not for reproduction), and I have the War Walker in a holding pattern, but that was WAY out of my comfort range! (maybe that's why it's in a holding pattern).

But, yeah, I like the Alien/Female hybrid idea!

Skalk - I know gendoikari87 said the swoosh lines weren't a concern, but now that you mention it, I think I might be able to model the lines after all. The blade is going to be a Light Saber like weapon, I forget what gendoikari87 called it, but I want to make it out of tinted clear resin, and if I model it on the weapon like fire or something I think it might work, and look good with the clear resin. I can always have the standard energy blade and the swoosh version as options.

Wehrkind - $10 for 3 bases? That's not bad. I talked to a company that wanted $300 for a 4 inch by 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch sprue with "Fleeting Image" on it. A Sprue! $300! I didn't go that route.

Heh, yea they charge by the cubic whatever, so it is pretty pricey for a whole model say, but anything thin is pretty easy. Give them a look for that sprue

I'll give them a look, but I wasn't talking about a model ON a sprue, just the Sprue to attach the model too! Just for something to have my name on. LIke GW does.

But I have gotten away from that style of sprues anyway, I may look into it again later, maybe not. And I really don't want to learn a new kind of software to make 3D stuff, I like sculpting.

But then again weapons are a different matter. maybe I could learn some 3d software, just to get the weapons made. Hmmmmmm....

Weapons usually look better when they have hard clean edges anyway.

When the summer's over you could send me some sketches and I could modle you anything you want up!

I just downloaded blender, if I can't get the hang of it, I may do that Silver!

I don't want to do all of my stuff this way, I still think it's a bit like cheating. But to get the hard edges I want for rifles and weapons, it may be the best way to go.

I may completely re-do the Steampunk weapons if I can get them to look right. Who knows!

And now I can get things done at work too!

But all that you're really given to work with in 3D are the basic shapes. Or if your like me a flat plane. (Similar to a blank sheet of plasicard! ^^)
