Are The Inquisition books still relevent? In said books, there are Inquisitorial adversaries, such as the cultists, the named demons, etc. In the current madness of 40k gelding, I see the writing on the wall, but can such a position by GW really kill off all of these armies? What will be the alternative, when we have to hear the same thing that happens to the next book on the chopping block? I am not a fan of Jervis or his shortsightedness, but with the nulification of the 13th crusade, will the inquisition books follow in its footsteps into the eye of terror or get eaten by tyranids, or whatever the heck they said about them this time around?? Is this GW's " official" position, that all of the additional armies , from the Armor Companies, to the Eldar Harlequins, to the Inquisition's Deathwatch armies, to every other GW Chapter Approved book, all going the way of the Do-Do? I know there is another thread, but I don't see my question as part of that conversation. I'm trying to figure out past the short run, and am wondering WHY wouldn't the Lost and the Damned be still relevent IF the Inquisition books are still currently playable. And If they are really now Lost and Damned, where does that put the Inquisition books, Chapter Approved, and The WD specials armies that are now going to start popping up every now and then? Is the current turn of events into making everything happy happy joy joy contributing to the death of the game? What will be the fix for this oversight to be simple?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

I see the Inquisition being consolidated into one book, with all three Ordos, so expect to see 'Generic Inquisitors' become a thing of the future, alongside Grey Knight Terminators, Sepharim and Deathwatch Scouts. If the adversaries rules even make it into the book, expect 'Generic Cultists' and 'Generic Generic Daemons'. BYE

They were going to do that for 2nd edition. Codex: Imperial Agents. That, and Codex: Squats. Oh well.
I think that you can be reasonably confident that Grey Knights and Sisters of Battle will remain viable for some time.

At the last Adepticon Jervis confirmed that when they get back to revisiting the Inquisition books they will likely consolidate them into a single codex. No matter what, Daemonhunters and Witch Hunters will remain armies in the game of 40k. No stand-alone Xenos-Hunter Inquisitorial book will be coming out before then. Although he didn't mention anything specifically you can absolutely bet that adversary rules/lists will be removed from the Inquisitorial book when it is redone, as codices are now directly aimed at providing a core army list for standard games. If adversary rules were to ever be done again it would be in a seperate expansion and/or as some sort of Apocalypse rules.

Well, they could solve this problem by simply making the adversary rules available to all suitable armies in any game, whether fighting Inq forces or not. That would be cool.

It strikes me that putting all Inquisition forces in one codex means either a very bloated book or a lot of things will get cut. I'm not sure that pure GK and SoB players should be eagerly awaiting this one.

If the adversaries rules even make it into the book, expect 'Generic Cultists' and 'Generic Generic Daemons'. BYE After all, the Grey Knights don't really fight as a separate organization per se. They'll happily fight along side Deathwatch as long as the Inquisitor is badass enough to keep them working together. You can still theme your army around Grey Knights, except now you won't need to deal with the confusing Aegis rules and you can take Whirlwinds, Techmarines and Grot squads. See, they've actually gotten better!

(Two types of Grey Knight squad: terminator and PA, for instance). Those squads may be flexible enough to simulate the old squads. I think that there was a lot of unnecessary redundancy in the Inquisition codices.

I don't know about GKs, but as a (new) pure SoB player, I can't say I'm too worried. Right now, SoBs really have just four usable units: Canonesses, BSS squads, Seraphim and the Exorcist, and I don't see these going anywhere (well, maybe the Exorcist, but in the end it's just another tank). The "exotic" ones are really just for laughs anyway.
Of course, this is pure selfishness on my part, since there are after all those who do use these just-for-fun units, and it would definitely suck to lose them if you're one of these people.

Yes, but would it be a problem if the BSS got additional weapons options so that you could make ersatz Dominions and Retributors and such?

Then I'd be ecstatic, but I don't really see that happening.
I was thinking more of the really offbeat choices like Repentia, Arcos, DCA. I can't say I'm 100% certain that GW won't decide to amalgamate them all into "Generic Raving Lunatics" or something.

Looking at the Codex's, if they combined WH and DH, there really would be a LOT of stuff that is now printed twice. The elites section for both is mostly assassins and inquisitors, with terminators in DH and celestians and repentia or arcos in WH being those without cross overs. So really, you are only adding 3 entries to DH, or 1 to WH. No biggie.
Likewise, in troops you have Inquisition storm troopers in both, and only the Grey Knights and Sisters otherwise.
Fast attack: Teleporting GKs, Seraphim, Dominions... am I missing one?
Heavy Support: Sisters with big guns. GKs with big guns. Exorcists, Penitents, Predators, Landraiders, Dreads. Ignore orbital strike. Ignore Immolators. So 7 selections, a little big perhaps.
So we have 5 Elites, 3 Troops, 3 Fast attack, 7 heavy. Then 3 HQ for GK Grandmaster/SortaMaster, Cannoness and Inquisitor of some flavor.
Now, I might be missing something, but 21 options total isn't too bad. Now there is a terrible amount of special rules, but eh, we deal with that already.

Whatever they decide the =I=rulebook and the two codeci added a very nice angle to the worlds of 40k and that can't be taken back. It will be nice to see how the RPG will expand this. As for 40k A single tome, all encompassing =I= book would be very nice.
