From TMP, confirmed by the Warstore, GW will stup having different bags of bases and will instead throw them all in one bag.

Green stuff packages are also changing.

http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=127679

Yes. Seriously. All different sized bases in one bag.

It is the most blatant money-grubbing and a waste of the planet's resources since hardly anyone will ever use all the bases in a single bag.

Fortunately GW type bases can be bought cheaper in separate bags from a number of online shops such as Hasslfree Miniatures.

This is stupid. Soon though, they won't include bases so you'll have to buy the multi-pack.

Good thing I have like a bazillion bases already.

It means "A size small enough for you to need to buy two packs to get the job done".

Actually the contents of the base sets has been up for some time. I even mentioned it in the post on the Miniatures Page back in the first week of November. However, if you don't want to buy the complete set, The Warstore will be selling them as bitz.

I know what GW thinks this will force people to do, but in reality, won't this just mean less sales for them?

I know that sales of these items probably don't amount to much for them, but still, it appears that they're sailing a rudderless ship sometimes...

They probably don't sell very many bases anyway, and this way they will take up a lot less retail space. I can live with it.

Bit of old news this one lads.
These sets will come in the 2 types of bases.

For example:
Citadel Round Bases Set.

release date: 08·12·07

30xCitadel 25mm Round Bases

10xCitadel 40mm Round Bases

10xCitadel 60mm Round Bases

Retail in the UK is £5
Personally I don't think it's too bad a deal.

Well since my shopping is limited to the internet I can just get them from the warstore, if my bazillion bases run out.

But it's just assinine. The stores I went to put all base bags on one peg, so there's no space saved.

That's against the rules. Please tell me the names of those stores so I can report them to GW Legal.

personally, I think I can live with that IF:
1) I'll get small bases without that stupid hole in the middle. I'm too lazy to fill them all, but I have a lot of plastic zombies who need round bases.
2) if the 60mm bases ae the new ones packed with IG weapon teams and not the old ones wo whre like, 1/4 as thick....

(was that last sentence right?)

I talked to Neal at the War Store a week or so ago about buying his extra bases from the bits selling he does, and he has since put them up in their own section. Decent prices too, naturally

I used to be a big fan of GW putty...........

Until I realized that epoxy putty is easily obtainable at your hardware store. The thing that I hate about GW's "Green Stuff" is that it shrinks (contracts) as it hardens and working with it is like working with chewed gum. There are much better products at a fraction of the cost at your hardware store. Thank God for Millput.

GW's putty is just repackaged Kneadatite Blue and Yellow. It's widely used for figure sculpting.

There are various putties available; they have different properties and are suitable for different purposes. The Milliput range is good, has somewhat different characteristics to Green Stuff.

It'd be cool if they had a sort of grab bag full of different bases in addition to the specific bags they currently sell.

I bought some Apoxie fixit stuff. I was happy as a clam until I got
a batch that had a can full of moist stuff. I tried to mix it with the other
half and it turned out all gloopy. It was very sad.

Umm... that's what they're doing. Only they'll be instead of the stuff they have now rather than in addition to.
