A guy I play with uses a Warboss with a Bike, Klaw and (I think) Attack Squig. That'd run you 140 points.

Normally I consider it ridiculous to put a Power Klaw/Fist on an IC, but in this case, I'm questioning if it might work out. He's T6, so while he's going last, he can shrug off a fair number of hits, then get back after the target.

Verdict?

is a character with the ability to move 24", with up to 7 attacks, toughness 6 and 3 wounds, and a power fist with a str 10 useful.... HMMMM?

I am going with yes.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

Indeed he can.

Rending (popular) lights him up.

Power Fists in large units will bring him down.

Basic enemy troops with higher than normal WS (cough, also popular...and funny, on all those guys with rending) will also ruin his day.

For an extra 40 points, you can get Wazzdakka who is vastly superior to a standard Warboss (he gets basically the same thing and pays 40 points extra for a hell of a lot more).

I agree with stelek here. if you are going to drop the points scrape together another 40 and be able to shoot 4!!! str 8 shots AFTER a turboboost... crazy good.

personally I'm a fan of running a warboss with klaw in a squad of nobz with painboy.

you wouldn't believe how hard it is to take down a T5 boss with a 4+ and FNP .. and the inv save from cybork armor.

I don't take a squig in this setup because I run another klaw with the nobz and it ends up being overkill

I disagree. Wazdakka has S4, and no invulnerable save. Those are two huge marks against him.

Also, it's debatable but I don't beleive that a painboy grants FNP to ICs that join the nob squad.

wazdakka isn't used as much in hand to hand. he just turboboosts every turn so his save IS invulnerable.. and shoots stuff like crazy.

Wazzdakka can pick off lone stuff. In CC or by shooting. It's what he excels at.

Considering the staying power of an ork warboss I'd say it is worth it, especially if he's backed up with some boys

definatly. i like the bike boss, i run mine standard with 7 attacks on the charge and a PK. toughness 6 means he can usually get at least one round of PK action in before he gets fisted. (or force weaponed)

There ain't nearly enough Salvage in this thread!

having him in a squad of nobz with FNP is BRUTAL though. totally worth it.

I use a biker boss in that exact configuration. He's great. In 3 games with him he's made his points back and more, and taken down targets that my normal boys would struggle with. He's also mobile, fast and scary. No tank, skimmer or heavy carnifex is safe when he's swooping around the board. But you need to use him carefully. Tough assault units will kick his arse, and many other tooled assault HQs could nail him.
I tend to zoom him into a big tough enemy tank on turn 2, pop it and head off hunting basic infantry squads and backing up my forward elements (be they trukk mobs or kommandos/stormboys.) againts tougher units.
Definitely a good choice.

As I said on Friday, T6 is a total b!tch

The 7 S10 attaks are pretty intimidating too. All this talk of smashing squads and dying in return, but I thought I heard the biker boss was being used most successfully for hunting vehicles?

That is my understanding as well. I personally would not want a lone bikerboss to get really stuck into a unit as thats best for the aforementioned nobs/boss killsquad. Just gotta tailor it up to what purpose you need him for.

Yes, the biker boss (alone) excels at eating up tanks and shooty stuff in the backfield, he (or they if you take TWO) can cause alot of mayhem.

SM- Lets roll to see who goes first
Nob- Urgh...ok, I got a 6
SM- Oops, looks like I got an 8, so I go first
Nob- You got a 8 on a 6 sided die?
SM- Um, yep.
Nob- Space marines.....
