WARNING: I am not looking for answers to these questions. I know darn well that many of them have pretty straightforward answers in the codex. However, IMHO these represent a pretty good slice of questions that people will continually ask about the Ork codex in the coming years. What I am looking for from you are any good questions I missed. If you've got any, post 'em in this thread! Also, if you spot any questions that just don't make sense or you think are in error, definitely let me know.

Thanks.

FORCES OF THE ORKS: ORK SPECIAL RULES (Page 31)

ORK.31A.01 – Q: Are saves of any kind allowed against the wound caused by rolling a ‘1’ for the ‘Waaagh!’ fleet roll?

ORK.31B.01 – Q: Does an Ork Mob with more than 10 models count as having a Ld greater than 10 when taking a Ld test (like a Target Priority test)?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: MEKBOYZ (Pages 34-35)

ORK.34B.01 – Q: If a Mek causes an Ork vehicle to be Shaken when using Mek’s Tools is the vehicle unable to shoot in the current or next Shooting phase (or both)?

ORK.34C.01 – Q: Does a unit have to be entirely within 6” of the Mek with a Kustom Force Field in order to gain its benefits?

ORK.35.01 – Q: If a Shokk Attack Gun rolls an “Oops” result does the opponent just pick the target unit or do they actually get to choose the placing of the marker over the unit as well?

ORK.35.02 – Q: If a Shokk Attack Gun rolls a “Gah” result does it effect the nearest friendly unit even if they are out of range, line of sight, fighting in close combat, etc?

ORK.35.03 – Q: If a Mek enters combat due to rolling a “Zoink” result does the enemy unit immediately count as being locked (i.e. no other Ork units may fire at them) and does the Mek get the charging bonus the following Assault phase?

ORK.35.04 – Q: Are models who are immune to instant death removed from the table when hit by a Shokk Attack Gun which rolls a “Raargh” result?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: WEIRDBOYZ (Pages 36-37)

ORK.37B.01 – Q: If a Weirdboy is embarked on a vehicle does he still roll for his powers? If so, what happens if he rolls something weird like ‘Eadbanger?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: TRUKKS (Page 41)

ORK.41B.01 – Q: If a Trukk suffers a penetrating hit but doesn’t suffer a Destroyed/Explodes result, does the unit follow the emergency disembarkation rules (i.e. take a Pinning test and suffer wounds if moving over 6”)?

ORK.41C.01 – Q: If a Trukk suffers a ‘Kaboom!’ result does the model become a wreck or is it removed and replaced with an area of difficult ground as with a normal ‘explodes!’ result?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: TANKBUSTAS (Page 42)

ORK.42B.01 – Q: Are Tankbustas which start a turn within line of sight and/or charge range of a vehicle allowed to move out of LOS and/or charge range in the movement phase?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: GRETCHIN (Page 50)

ORK.50A.01 – Q: Why does a Runtherd have the ‘Waaagh!’ and ‘Mob Rule’ special rules?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: BIG GUNZ (Page 51)

ORK.51C.01 – Q: Does each Zzap gun roll separately for Strength or is only a single roll made for the whole battery? If only a single roll is made, and the result is above ‘10’, is only a single crewman removed or one per weapon in the battery?

ORK.51C.02 – Q: Is the roll for Zzap gun strength made before or after a target unit is chosen?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: LOOTED WAGONS (Page 54)

ORK.54B.01 – Q: If a Looted Wagon rolls a ‘1’ for “Don’t Press Dat” what happens if this movement will take them into friendly models, impassable terrain or off the table?

ORK.54D.01 – Q: How many models can fire from each of a Looted Wagon’s (with ‘ard case) three fire points?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: BATTLEWAGONS (Page 55)

FORCES OF THE ORKS: MAD DOK GROTSNIK (Page 59)

ORK.59C.01 – Q: Does Grotsnik have to embark on a vehicle if doing so will get him closer to the nearest enemy than moving normally? Can Grotsnik stay aboard a vehicle if doing so will get him closer to the nearest enemy than moving normally?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: WAZDAKKA GUTSMEK (Page 60)

ORK.60D.01 – Q: Does Wazdakka benefit from the ‘Waaagh!’ special rule?

FORCES OF THE ORKS: OLD ZOGWORT (Page 61)

ORK.61A.01 – Q: If Zogwort is fighting in combat and rolls for power weapon attacks that turn, do the effects of the power weapon combine with his poisoned attacks (so that he always wounds on a ‘2+’ and ignore armor saves)?

ORK.61D.01 – Q: Does Zogwort have to pass a psychic test to use his curse? Does the curse follow any of the rules for shooting, especially the restriction about targeting Independent Characters that aren’t the closest unit?

What are you unclear about (honestly)? Tell me more please.

As far as I can tell it is perfectly clear that Stormboyz normally get a 12" move and add D6" to that distance when they move.

When stormboyz roll a 1 for movement do they get a save vs. losing a guy?

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

That rule states you just remove a model as a casualty. You can only save wounds so I don't (personally) think that's a very confusing issue.

These can be fit into your existing question about Zogwort:

Can Zogwort use his curse whilst in combat?
Can Zogwort target an Independant Character who is itself in combat?

It doesn't say that, it says he "may still fire his weapons", which while I get your point doesn't indicate that he can or should be able to fire more than one weapon.

I'm with you, but those issues are inherent in the 'does he follow the shooting rules' question.

Serious question:

Does a dethkopta with a buzzsaw get an extra attack for having two CCW's (the buzzsaw/powerfist and their choppa)? - of course, this is addressed in the rumoured 5e rules.

Frequently asked questions in my gaming group:
Do zzap guns really have to roll to hit? (They probably just forgot this)

Did you really mean to omit that zzap guns are melta weapons? (That's a typo, right)

What the heck were you thinking with Looted Wagons?

Honest questions here:

1) Why do you think a Deffkopta would not get +1Attack for having two close combat weapons if it takes a buzzsaw?

2) Why would you think Zzaps don't have to roll to hit? I understand they didn't have to in the last codex, but their range also increased and so did the BS of their crew .

3) Why would you think that Zzap guns would be melta weapons? Just because the Zzap power is named similar?

Nice list you covered many of my own questions, I hope to see them answered soon

Just a few addons I would like for you to consider.

Does a nobs mob on bikes still get to fleet under the whaagh rule?

From where do you measure a bomb squigs 18" range?
from the squig model, from the releasing ork model...

Can you release a bomb squig from inside a vehicle?
If the vehicle has a hard top does the bomb squig "use upp" one of the fire points?
From where do you measure distance in the vehicle (more often than not you dont fit all models in a vehicle)?
If the squig goes for a friendly does it attack the vehicle its in or the closest other vehicle?
If the vehicle its in what side does it attack?
Can you release a bomb squig if locked in close combat?

If you tank shock with a deff rolla and the target makes a successfull death or glory attack, does the rolla still cause hits?

Battlewagon big guns have the wording "(does not include crew)", what does this meen.
What firearcs does the big guns, big shootas and rokkits have on battlewagons and looted wagons?

Is there an easy fast way to deal with burnaboyz, resolving upp to 15 template weapons after each other will seriously slow down the game.

1) Nobs on bikes are covered by the wording in the Waaagh (only infantry benefit from it).

2) The Ork codex is clear that the Bombsquig model isn't used for anything but decoration so range would be measured from the model releasing it.

3) All your other bomb squig questions are great and I'll look into adding them into the Adepticon FAQ.

4) The tank shock and other battlewagon questions are included in the Adepticon FAQ.

5) The burnaboyz question looks to really be a gameplay issue rather than a genuine rules question.

Thanks for the input!

Good point, hadn't thought that far, my bad

2) The Ork codex is clear that the Bombsquig model isn't used for anything but decoration so range would be measured from the model releasing it.

True the squig is just a decorative piece and that is how I would call it but I would still like to have it officially FAQed, sadly there are some very... cheesy people out there and for those situations nothing works apart from offical GW stuff, I know they will place the squigs out front and measure from them in release situations but remove them when checking ranges for oponent charges and such.

4) The tank shock and other battlewagon questions are included in the Adepticon FAQ.

this Adepticon FAQ you are talking of is it the list at the top of the thread?
I agree that when rereading your deff rolla entry I see that my deff rolla query is in there however it seems to be mainly dealing with deff rolling vehicles, I would split it into two but thats a side issue.

My queries about big guns and "sponson" weapons is however not covered.
The crew perenthasis, what does that actually meen, do I have to buy crew separatelly from the big gun entry? can I buy ammo runts?
In reality I think it would be really neat if you bought a whole gun, crew and all for the battlewagon with the same upgrade possibilities, it would feel very orky(or gretchiny) but I doubt this is the intent.
If I put on a zapp gun and 6 big rokkits, what fields of fire do they have?
are they 360 as nothing is stated or is it any angle you can trace a LOS?

5) The burnaboyz question looks to really be a gameplay issue rather than a genuine rules question.

True however as most other template weapons are limited in number opening upp with burnas will put strain on any game, it would be good if GW made a statement on how to make it more efficient and such can clearly be included in FAQ's

Yes I know, for most of my games I do not need this FAQ detail as I play friendly games with reasonable people, when we get together to play multiple games over a weekend however people I do not usually like to play against come along, I normally opt not to play thise people as they tend to intentionally interpret rules that are complex in a flawed way to benefit them.
ex: mob rule,
1-7 orks -> Ld 7,
8-10 orks -> Ld 8-10,
11+ orks -> Ld 7 and fearless (fearless rule replaces orks for Ld rule).

Like I said I dont like to play against them but I do when we have a gettogether and usually we end upp rolling dice to decide meening I play by rules we both know are wrong 50% of the time, they are not stupid, they know how the rule is suposed to work but as the one and only issue that matters is winning and they know that the sugested way to deal with rules issues is a dice roll they will argue the point to get the die roll and a 50% chance of playing with an incorrect rules interpretation that benefits them... Usually I just put my head down, charge straight across the table and finish off the game as soon as possible so I can play a more fun oponent after, oddly enough I still usually manage to pull off about 50% wins.

The only thing I have found helps is to have along a printed out official GW FAQ or rules clarification and thus I push for having such rules queries asked.

ORK.58B.01 – Q: The Slow and Purposeful special rule doesn’t normally allow a model to get an Attack bonus for charging. Does Ghazghkull really get a +2 Attack bonus when charging?

Not really that big a deal. Codex Orks has been written preemptively 5th edition compliant. In 5th edition, USR Slow and Purposeful no longer eliminates bonus attacks when charging, so Ghazghkull's rule won't be an issue in 6 months or so.

The field of fire is how you model it. A turret has 360, a fixed has 90, sponsons have the normal sponsony thing.

Does the attack squig modify the profile so that a nob or warboss with a pk still gets +1A?

I realize that this only makes sense if looking at 5th edition, but I think it will come up when/if the rules are released.

Ork Mek Shokk Attack Gun: If an '11' is rolled is the wound considered AP2

Ork Mek Shokk Attack Gun: add on to your ORK.35.04 any roll 'BOOM' result concerning the immune to instant death question.

I would add onto ORK.42E.02 'fire their weapons at a different target' or something to that effect. In other words does the fact that they have Bomb Squigs and you want to use them, force you to fire at the closest vehicle?

When is this power used? During shooting for the unit containing the weirdboy? If so, does the rest of the unit shoot their weapons before or after they Deep Strike?

Three other questions to add to the list:

Weirdboy 'Eadbanger result - does the Weirdboy also suffer a S6 AP3 hit? (It kinda of implies that "nearby models suffer the hit")

Tankbustas Bomb Squigs - What is the AP of the S8 hit to the vehicle? What if there is no friendly vehicle within 18"

are they 360 as nothing is stated or is it any angle you can trace a LOS?

The field of fire is how you model it. A turret has 360, a fixed has 90, sponsons have the normal sponsony thing.

And that statement unfortunantelly tells us nothing.

The battlewagon does not have a standardized design, in reality there isnt even a GW model for them, true there are some old 3rd edition models that have come out of forgeworld but they are not very good to go on to define this.

What you basically say is that if I choose to go for a nifty freebooter pirate theme on my battlewagon and mount the zapp gun in a turret and place all the other guns in crows nests on masts, equiping the weapons with a rail allowing them 360' mobility then all the guns will have 360' arcs of fire but if I choose to go for a more goff design with a wagon with a hard top, a low mounted zaap gun to the front and wicked looking weapons sticking out of the vehicle att all sides they will be seriously limited in their arcs.

This does not make sence, we need rules defined arcs of fire for the wagon.

Yakface, another bomb squig question...

Does a bomb squig ignore all terrain when "running" towards its vehicle?
Does it have to obay the 1" rule?
Can it pass through inpassable terrain?

The way I read the rules it does ignore everything, simply start at the origin and check wich vehicle is closest to it and if that is within 18" the vehicle is hit.

This however can seriously start an argument if the squig has to pass through for example a 16" thick 30" long wall that is asumed to reach too high to pass over without some form of flight, the squig would not be able to run round the wall but according to the rules RAW the vehicle will still be hit.

In short GW rulings are void!

Can a Boyz mob that is over 11 models choose not to be fearless and instead use there own leadership?

Does the wierdboy in a mob of 30 really have a 31 leadership in regards of making a psychic test?

Do stormboys have waaagh? Their description says they do but their army list does not which is correct?

Da fastest Orks get to da fight firstest!!! Waaaaagh!!!!!

Does a mob of nobs in mega-armor benefit from the fleet of foot ability when using a waagh.

I fear no man, just the toaster.
