So who won?

More importantly, how long did it take and how many turns did you get in?

12,000 pts of Orks, Tyranids and Chaos vs. 12,000 pts of Praetorian IG and SM's. I finally got to charge 50 RR's across the field (killing Ahriman:-) and 15 Sentinels. Also saw, Abaddon coming within a whisker of taking out a Baneblade himself. The Imperium won the day

For all your bravado, if the US Army decided to invade, Wisconsin is it?, in force supported by a heavy bombing campaign for the month before, weeks of shelling from battleships on Lake Superior, and a full tank thrust (crushing the cows beneath the treads), I don't think that your .22 is going to make much of a difference really... Well, the largest two games I have ever played were well before Apocalypse came out. There used to be a game store here in Atlanta that had an absolutely huge backroom.

I played in one huge mega-battle, I believe, in the early part of 2005 (might have been 2004). The back room had a terrain set up that consisted of 32 4'x6' tables. They had more tables than that, actually, but didn't use all of them. It was forces of order vs forces of disorder. The battle was seperated into groupings of four tables with room to walk around each grouping, but adjacent table groupings were considered to be touching (you could walk or shoot across the gaps, ignoring the actual physical space between).

I want to say that the total points for each side was in the neighborhood of 95,000 points. There was roughly one player for each of the tables, though some tables had more (a grouping of four tables had, on average, four players around it). The sheer number of superheavies was ridiculous. Remember, this was before plastic baneblades, and there were at least six of them. There were also several warhound titans and gargants, and a number of VDR creations, including a really interesting superheavy version of the Monolith called the Mausoleum.

On my table, for example, my side had 5,000 points of Dark Eldar teamed with almost 5,000 points of assorted Chaos pitted against 5,000 points of Space Wolves (including a Warhound Titan) and 5,000 points of Dark Angels (including an allied Baneblade). I think there were around 10 Land Raiders on other side, too.

The set up started on Friday evening to get the game going on time. The first turn started around 9:00-9:30 Saturday morning, and we didn't finish until after dinner time. I had an amazing time, and I regret to this day that the store in question relocated to a much smaller building and doesn't have the space to put on these epic battles anymore.

Edit: Oh, I almost forgot. The table group next to me had 10K of Tyranids on the FOD side. I think there were at least 2, but probably 4 Tyranid superheavy/biotitans over there. One had been converted from a 12"+ tall modle of Alien from the movie. That was a lot of bugs.

During December, in Raleigh, there was a huge game that featured imperial verse everyone else. It was 18k for each side. The Xenos rocked our socks off.

Back on Jan. 4th, we played a game with 60,000 points. The Imps had a Reaver and a Warhound titan and around 10 Baneblades. We started around 11:30 - noon and ended around nine-ish. We had to many people leave from the Chaos side and it started to get out of hand. And LOUD. But, we did have fun and we are planning on playing another one in March.

I recently ran a HUGE mega game in December, as with most games it was order vs disorder. Disorder had 56000pts while order had 44000pts.
It was pretty funny when the warlord titan finally exploded 26" and killed an entire 3000pts worth of Imperial guard.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Today we had a 4500/Guard + 5000/Eldar vs 5000/Chaos and 7500/Renegade Marines. That was fun. 60 Deep Striking Terminators > 80 Guardsmen... that's for sure. Was fun to march my 26 Sentinels onto the table though... even if by that stage I had no other models left alive.

Tomorrow we're playing the next game (6500/Guard + 15000/Eldar + 4000/Marines vs 12500/Chaos and 12500/Renegade Marines). That'll be good as it's my first real game using two Armoured Companies, plus a squadron of Baneblades. Also looking forward to seeing 30 Falcon Hulls in action (12 Serpents, 12 Falcons, 3 Prisms, 1 Nightspinner, 2 Firestorms), all filled with Aspect Warriors. Then there's the Scorp and the two Eldar flyers...

Then on Sunday we're playing the final game (13000/Guard/Inquisition + 15000/Eldar + 6000/Grey Knights vs 17000/Chaos + 12000/Renedgade Marines). I'll be unleashing the full fury of my artillery company in that one (Bombards and Manticores - OH MY!), plus an extra Armoured Company, and a Mechanised Company, and Inquisitors galore. I'll also finally get a chance to use my Stormblade for the first time. This will of course be overshadowed by the 4000 point Seer Council and the 2 Revenant Titans that will be allied with me.

Overall this weekend would be 135000 points. The cool thing is, for the Eldar and my Guard, we're not doubling up on any models. Every single list is a separate entity that we could field simultaneously if we wanted to.

I've been in some huge mega battles. On the scale of hundreds of thousands of points per side. One was with 10 6x4 tables.

I've only played 2 Apocalypse games. One was 15,000 per side (2 on 2 with 5,000 and 10,000 points against 5,000 and 10,000 points). The other was 6,000 per side (2 on 2 with 3,000 points each).

Apocalypse isn't really my thing. I think it's long and boring. But it has potential. And they can be cool if you have the big super heavies.

@Foda_Bett - That battle looks awesome. I absolutely love all the scratch built Imperial stuff and I never thought of using a Startship Troopers bug model for a Bio Titan, that's just ingenious.

@H.B.M.C. - Any chance you'll be taking pictures of that insanity? That's more points than Jesus and I'd love too see how it all looks on the field. Is it all of your Imperial Guard models?

I believe the biggest game of "Apocalypse" I've played in (this was years before Apocalypse came out, 3rd edition) was a 12000pt battle. Imperials vs. Xenos. The Space Wolves player drop podded his entire 3,000pts into our lines and I obliterated his assault squad with my trio of War Walkers w/starcannons and guide. It was glorious.

I also played a game where my 6,000pts of Black Templars had to defend a bunker against 4 other 1500pt lists. It was interesting as my guys kept getting pissed and charging out of their positions to take on a Nightbringer and a few Tyranid MCs that they had no chance of hurting.
