Well, my wife is trying to veto my idea to build a 40k scale Warmonger titan. She says that it will take up too much space an have little to no gaming value.
So, I think I might make it into functional furniture as well. The top of a warmonger is fairly flat, so I am planning on making the components on the top be detachable, and able to be stored inside the chest of the titan. I will then make the hips and legs sturdy enough to use him as an end table or night stand.
I am crazy enough to try this, but I wonder if it will work. Plus, can I accent that color scheme in the rest of the room?

Either you're very enginuitive, or very creepy. Good luck and let us see it as it develops, I am very interested in how you would design this.

That could work.

Alternately, you could:

- build your stereo or home theatre into it (projector out the eyes...)

- make it a drinks fridge or a bar (build bottle holders inside the back spires and run a hose down through his weapon arms, and you've got spirits on tap. Build a small bar fridge into his chest, and a bottle opener on his chin. Store glasses in his legs, and make the dorsal cannon fire peanuts)

- use it as a coat rack

or
- hollow it out and use it as a cat house or birdcage.

Either that guy is an expert craftsman, or is completely insane! It's a great idea, however it is a bit ambitious.

It could look like something out of H.R. Giger.

Duh!
Make it into a chair.
Articulate the knees & hips (with locking mechanisms in place so he doesn't "fold up" on your table -and army [eeew]).
Make a small stand for HIM to sit on (giving you your back legs) and you're set.

Alternatively, you could make it kneew on it's hands & knees & use it as a bench.

LOL

Dude.....

This project worries me almost as much as some of Insaniak´s ideas.

Me, I´ve been wondering where the other "huuuuuuuuge terrain/model" people store their stuff. Spare house? Garage? Under the bed (might need higher bed)?

But as far as model/furniture goes, how about a fishtank!

You could have the whole thing filled up with water, and the fish couldd swim into the guns, the head, the feet and all.

Could even be fluffy. "Behold the Titan! In his neverending wisdom, the machine god has seen fit to grant this mighty warrior with aquatic controllers, that it might better serve him!"

Honestly no matter how well made into a fill in the blank, its gonna look hideous.

Theres a damn good reason us guys aren't interior decorators. Plus you pull that crap not only will you be down a wife but your place will be swimming in reality TV hosts from the Bravo channel.

Nobody wants that.

Ok, presuming you're not insane or joking...

the legs will need to be very solid, even for nightstand-type furniture - it needs to be able to handle being knocked over, or having a dozen beers placed on it etc, or you'll run a huge risk of it breaking. (The above suggested chair, although I suspect not entirely serious, would need to be even more solid.)

How about making it into a lamp, with either the detachable electrics and a shade on top, or the titan body itself forming a shade (i.e with the electrics and bulb on the body underside?

But to be honest, the more practical solution would be to forget furniture and build it with detachable weapons and legs so the whole thing can be safely packed into a compact storage/transport box.

Ah well, back to my Ork Megagargant-shaped washing machine project...
