Was on a few other forums forums and they are having discussions about the rearrangement of GW's paint range
Removal of:
Midnight blue
Bad moon yellow
Firey orange
Brazen brass
Teracotta
A green (unsure which one)
Removal of to be replaced with:
All inks to be replaced by washes... Not sure why
Bleached Bone... WHAT?!? was my initial response but later a poster said would be becoming a foundation colour. Which is also odd as I don't think I've ever used bleached bone as a base colour, its always painted on another and works best when thinned to allow the underlying colour to show through, such as on bone.
Tentacle pink- replaced by foundation paint
I'm using terracotta, and chestnut ink and bleached bone on my lizardmen. I'll now have to buy up heaps of each to ensure I can paint them in perpituity.
Firey orange is a kick ass colour.
I've no real problem with GW changing regular paints to foundation paints, but leave your colours alone, get back to making great models and FOCUS ON DECENT RULES TO SELL MORE MODELS!!!

I believe it's Scaly Green that is going.
I think the inks are sooner rather than later, whilst I hear some of the colours will take a while to replace.

The best I can find for dates is June 2008 for removal and replacement of stocks (my local GW usually keeps their old stuff as people buy them up over the next couple of months).

Brazen Brass?! Son of a… This is my highlight for all the Tin Bitz on my DA, and it's great.
Agh. It’s still not as bad as when they dumped Storm Blue (which was one of the two main colors for my Eldar), but it always stinks when they drop a standard color in one of your armies.

I too am a bit frustrated that Midnight blue is going, since I was using it as a poor substitute for Storm Blue.
Brazen Brass is awesome. :-( If anything, they should get rid of Dwarf Bronze.

Midnight Blue is nearly the same as Necron Abyss, if I'm not mistaken (NA is a bit darker).
I think that the reason they're moving Bleached Bone to Foundation is because it could use a bit more pigment for better coverage.
The same with all the others, methinks, and it might be for the best.

I still have half pots of Storm Blue paint and Sky Blue Ink left! I rule. I was worried I would run out of the ink.
Why do they screw around with their paint line, anyway? It's like trying to hack Google.

The loss of bleached bone is madness of course, I suppose I should get another one of the non-hyper-pigmented-tiny-bottled bbone pots.
Though I may be looking at a lot of skeletons in my future, so perhaps foundation bone is good? No idea, having not used a f paint yet.

Hmmm, guess I better pick a few more fiery oranges up so that my Slayers don't lose their highlights.
Bleached bone becoming a foundation works for me. I use it as the base on my scouts in my ultra army anyways.

I am going to miss fiery orange, but hopefully my pot will last me for all the marine's eyes and templar crusader seals in the near future. However bleached bone? I hate foundation paints. I never can consistently achieve the same pigment mixes. They are a real pain. So what if the cover better.

In my experience with Midnight Blue, it always came off kind of purply - lousy for Crimson Fists, even though the 40k3 SM codex recommended Midnight Blue for CFs.

Doghouse's tutorials on Warseer - He painted his CSM as Night Lords and one of his techniques used Midnight Blue, the other Necron Abyss, and they both work wonderfully. I meant to copy that for my Crimson Fists.
I hope he doesn't mind me quoting him (although for the pics I'd suggest searching the forums) -
"I've used Necron Abyss then gone over that with Midnight Blue to get the basic blue (...) I used a watered down fifty/fifty wash of regal blue and midnight blue, highlighted with regal blue and fine highlighted with a skull white/regal blue mix."
Here's a pic, in the attachments - it's more noticeable around the chest.
Hope this helps!
Editx2: fixed the picture (it had a massive white space - me and paint...), but it looks like it has a lousy quality. Sorry, if you really want to I could send it over mail (I have two pics, one before and this one). Happy painting!

Black ink is dead handy for quick and easy grime or oil on engines and guns.
Terracotta I was using for squigs and clay stuff.
