My question is how tall does this come out to be? I went to hardware store and tried to get pieces as close as description. I figure it to be 3-4" tall. Anyone else do this project?

Obviously it's taller. The pieces I found were 3-4" when put together. I may have to go to Home Depot or Lowes. Bigger plumbing dept. than my local little hardware store.

I loved seeing all the PVC From the Stars at the 'Ard Boyz tourney. I wonder how many Home Depots mysteriously sold out of 3" pipe-ends that week?

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Why PVC instead of plasticard?
No cutting involved, just shave the writing on it. Simple enough.
Oh yeah you have to paint it

Here's the other trick. While the card/plasticard pods look really great, they take about 10 times as long to construct as it does to build one of the PVC pods.
So that's your trade-off - you want your pods to look good? You can:
a) Spend the money on a FW pod
b) Spend the time to build a nice one on your own out of card/plasticard/balsa
You want your pods to be easy?
a) Spend the money on a FW or other homemade pod
b) Build yourself a PVC pod

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack |
