Slaanesh and Khorne in one box? It's more likely than you think.

It's nice to see these two have set aside their differences.

Wow, I couldn't get past the price to care what's in the box and I'm a Chaos freak! That's terribly expensive and not that many models. I'd have thought $189 or so.

All rumors I've heard put the new model support in its entirety a bit light on the Tizz. Looking at 3 special character horrors, maybe some command horrors, maybe a big bad special character demon prince.

Course, Tizz is going to be rocking rules-wise, you'd think they'd make something in plastic. Particularly with the changes to Tizz in fantasy :S

1 Epidemius [$15]
1 The Masque [$15]
10 Daemonettes of Slaanesh [$35]
10 Bloodletters of Khorne [$35]
5 Flesh Hounds of Khorne [$25]
1 Bloodcrusher of Khorne [$25]
1 Fiend of Slaanesh [$25]

Pictures that I've seen on Warseer suggest the Daemonette and Bloodletter boxes would be $22 for 10.

Given that Daemonettes & Bloodletters are comparable points and squad sizes as CSM, and sold quite well at $40 for 10, I'm assuming the model prices would be similar to CSM. I can't see GW selling them for less than 10 for $30.

Guess we'll wait to see the order form later this month.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Wide a wide mish-mash of new things. Two nurgle units, all the special characters... one Bloodcrusher and Fiend. Seems like a waste.

I also don't like the new packaging for the Daemons. I have exactly three units of 7 Plaguebearers... yet if I want that command I have to get a box of 5 guys rather than just a blister with the three of them. Flamers and Screamers are three to a box each - THREE - that's just robbery.

Daemonettes and Letters are 12 pounds for 10 models. So around 24ish w/ exchange rate (Not that they always go by the cent but it's a pretty accurate ballpark).

This set is too expensive.

my opinion is that it is pretty weak. the price needs to be way lower!

I think this is a sign of $40-45 core/troop choice boxes....

SM- Oops, looks like I got an 8, so I go first

Damn! I was really looking forward to this spearhead but I ain't paying that much. I don't need all those special characters. The other spearheads weren't that much were they? I wonder what will be in the battle force? The only thing that's plastic is the bloodletters and daemonettes. I don't see them putting the soulgrinder in there.

Go in on the box with two friends (assuming you each follow a different power), then you fight best of three falls to see who gets the 'grinder and the codex...

Nah, I'm still not tempted.

Based on the price bands in the preview pics and a few guesses, it looks like you save maybe $10 US at best. But, as many people have pointed out, the spearhead is just about getting all of the new models and codex a little early. It is indeed a shame though.. if they put together a couple of little khorne or slaanesh forces, they'd be sure to sell a whole lot more, even w/out much of a price break.

Are you talking about the new plastic prices? Right now they are $40 for ten.

If you look a little further down on the page you will see the release schedule including price for everything in the spearhead. The boxes of ten demons are listed at 12 pounds apiece which should put them at the same US dollar price as the fantasy 10 man regiment boxes ($22 apiece)

Just for fun, I was thinking about checking this out...and then I saw the $279. Less stuff & lower price would have sold more kits. At $279, that's a shelf-sitter.

I'll just wait for the Codex and kits I want.

$279 for 1000 points is a bit steep, innit? :S

That said, the army would look pretty cool on the table. Blasphemous with the mixed marks and all that, but this is the new "mixed fruit" chaos of the future afterall

See, that's what I saw the problem as being. In what army are you really going to want to run daemons from all four powers? Seriously?

Seems to me that they'd do better by packaging up smaller separate forces for each power, that way if you're dead set on running a Khorne-only or Slaanesh-only army, you can buy a couple sets and get set up right. Instead, most players who buy the box are only going to use half or maybe 3/4 of the models. Dakka Swap Shop here we come?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Chaos Undivided?

Anyway, this box only gives daemons from two out of four powers, and characters from three. Tzeench & Nurgle are woefully underepresented.

It'll be pretty funny since people will just outright buy forgeworld instead of regular GW models at only ~$10 more per box of troops.
