Excuse me if this is the most unecessary noobish question ever but i am not well familiar with the whole tournament scene and just wanted to know what peoples thoughts were...

Yeah where are the Nid's Every RT event i've been to has has half the place complaining about the one or two guy who brought the unstoppible nidzilla list. Granted, my vote will still go to the Eldar, Three decked out fire prisms moving fast is a little too much to handle. Granted once 5th edition shows up and the skimmers get nerfed, eldar will be just as vulnerable as any other MEQ army.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I was torn between Eldar and Spase Marinez, I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one.

Pretty tough to beat Falcdar, and Eldrad + Avatar are both strong HQ.

Marine's are my choice, especially with the Blood Angels codex. They are a quick to get into combat and can still field some potent vehicles for support in a 2000pts game.

Was torn between picking Eldar over Marines as they are very devestating to any army in the hands of an experienced player (ie-not me! lol) damn those Seer Councils with fortune.

With all the threads talking about Nidzilla and stealer shock, and how to counter them, I'm surprised at how Tyranids are trailing a distant third on this poll.

Nidzilla dies horrible to Ork Horde with Ghazgul. If you are within 18 inches for your dakka, you are dead. 6 genestealers can't put a dent into a 30 man ork squad. Nidzilla does great vs Marines and most other armies. Certain builds of Eldar can beat bugs pretty easily (30 pathfinders for the win!!). The reason Nidzilla does so well, is due to the sheer amount of marines floating around. If the tournaments switch to Orkie horde, they will have to change up their plan to do a dent to the massive amount of green skinned ninnies.

This is all stuff we see as we test out different lists to see what is viable. Until Marines get a codex change, they are going to be strong due to the 6 man las/plas and sheer amount of assault cannons they can throw down. But for overall annoyance and use I think Eldar is the best army out there. In the hands of a capable general, there isn't much that can put a dent into them. With 5th edition, that might change, but they will just evolve and you will see less Falcons. But will see.

But yeah, Eldar for the win and I don't even play them.

A new day, a new time zone.

I think the only answer that you won't get is Daemonhunters. Nearly every other army will have its proponents for why it's the strongest, which should tell you something right there.

MC Nids are hard core when played by the right person. Eldar are weak sauce and have to depend on 3 Falcons to even be viable and at the end of a match against them Falcons are all thats usually left.

I'm rather supprised to see so few nid votes. I figured the top 3 spots would be Eldar, Marines (basic codex), and Nids but I didn't expect to see them quite so stratified.

I voted Eldar, only because I can never get anywhere with them. They need all of their ing rules to make them viable, but they went overboard. Same thing in Epic, broken, broken, broken.

likewise in BFG. eldar overall have all the cool little exceptions, and special rules to make them just plain nasty.

In the right hands, somebody who can play them correctly and capable...ly..., Necrons are a MEAN force. Hard as heck to stop. The owning player really needs to "get them" though, or they are not very scary at all.
