Wow- the quality of this line is getting better and better.

Sure, some of it may be a bit "derivative"- but that's exactly what most of the mini-buying public (self included) want. We want minis that either fill holes in existing mini lines (either common stuff that's simply missing, or stuff that's too expensive like, say, $25/10 sci-fi infantry).

Can't wait to see what you guys produce next, and to hopefully see those sci-fi infantry with a decent pricetag.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Now, for a startup company, these are generally very good. If I had more disposable income right now I would definitely pick some up, just for painting. I can't wait to see how your sculptors improve over the next couple of years.(and I certainly hope you stay in business at least that long)

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus

Thanks for the kind words guys! I'll pass them on!

I don't know the prize of the sci fi infantry yet, it will all depend on how they will be once finished. As for filling the gaps, what about evil dwarfs and alternative daemon models?

We are currently working on some other stuff besides miniatures as well, such as a gamingsystem (Warspike) which will be very cool and realistic, and also a gaming universe. Also we've got something planned (not 100% sure yet) that fans of a certain type of Space Marine will love (as in cause a tsunami in their panties...)

Definitely will be picking up a post-apoc girl or two. Well done sirs!

I am sort of digging the SWAT looking guys. I don't know if they are exactly something I could use, but they are off to a decent start.

With a different head and some Imperial looking bits they could make an interesting alternative for Drop Troopers or a more high tech regiment.

Any points for improvement on those guys I could pass on to the sculptor?

Right now I would say that the Demogorath heads need a bit of "detailing out" towards the back like in the artwork. As they are they have a similar silhouette to a donkey or horse, so they probably need the mane that the artwork had. I don't know if that would be too difficult to add at this stage, but it seems like if it had that the sculpt would be instantly improved.

We've been doing a lot of thinking about Warspike and Sciror lately, including one setting in Sciror called "Staring Into The Abyss". Philip Sibbering (look up his interpretation of the 40k universe) has been writing some stuff for it and has been discussing it with me.

Find his blog entry on it here.

Discussions about it can be found here

We could always use more people to throw in ideas, submit artwork and so on. If you're interested in a new background challenge, join in!

@Railguns: I put the suggestion up to Ed and this is what he had to say:

So he means more of the pointed hair around the head, right? I'm not done there as I was thinking of a possible necklace made of a human figure in a noose and wanted to layer the hair over that.

Anyway, almost done with the new front figure and it is 100% better but had to buy a new vehicle this weekend to pick my son up after work from daycare. Thus I got little done today and took the day off. :-[

I think when the hands are done and wrappings around the arm attach him to the belt it's going to start coming together.

These evil and somewhat chaotic dwarves are shaping up really nicely.

Also, I was interested in the Trench Guard figures in the scale photos but couldn't find them in the Sci-Fi section of the Trollforged site?

The trench guard aren't done yet. Icesword is still working on them, you can check out his progress over here.

Once they are available they will be on the TFM site.

The Evil Dwarf Lord compared to other evil dwarves:

Oh yeah, and a little word from Ed (Hive Trygon) on the upcoming releases:

Ok everyone, so sorry for how slow I'm getting here. I am plannng to begin the next rtv molds which means Ice, your walker, Sven, your undead beastie, toads, your larger minotaur, and matt your bases, some new ones of mine will need to go in also.

Everything else is getting spin framed, and here is why. Speed and time. I need to be faster and able to knock these casts out easier for all of us. All large items will remain rtv. Low sellers also. If I give something a shot I know is not going to make me a dime and you want it cast, stuff like that.

All average to fantastic are getting spin casted for ease on my end. Down side is rubber costs more and thus I need to cram lots in one frame. That also means a little more cost for me in resin rather than metal due to wasted inventory.

So, I'm trying to figure this out best and apolagize to everyone. I'm also playing with molds using interchangeable blocks. very complex and confusing to the layman but simply put I can change the mold patterns depending on orders. The machine manufacturers were beyond impressed with the design and might even have me do a few for them, so here is fingers crossed.

That said everything I do is for you, me, and TFM's best interest so please forgive me. Work is getting slow here and while I have a little cushion factor I need to plan ahead for all of us as I do not want to stop providing this service even if just a temporary thing.

Wow those mercenaries look awesome. Major props to the sculptor behind those.

Imo they're better than GW's plastic guardsmen and would make great carapace armored veterans or even Elsyian-esque drop troops.

@Lunahound: I think so yeah. Icesword did mention something about masks.

@Cane: Thanks dude!

We kind of have a plan of how we plan to release the miniatures. It will all be very customisable, meaning you could put together your own infantry kit. Hence you pick a type of head, a torso, arms, and weapons. So for example you pick the mercenary torso, add a gasmask head and mutant arms, or you pick a Trench Guard torso, mutant heads and mercenary arms.
In the longer run we hope to have to have many options available for you guys when other sculptors also join into this madness.

If Im not mistaken Icesword's Black Praetorians will have helmets which will kind of look gargoyle/daemonic like. Those helmets on the mercenary bodies might make interesting Blood Pact.

And join our forum while you at it. We could always use more members who offer critique and suggestions. We really hope that in the longer run it will truly become more of a democratic community. Well...it already is kinda like that, but I think we would need more members for it to function more effectively.
