The first few GoblinAid auctions are finally up on eBay

Sorry for the delay in getting these out there - the massive workload of Salute and Cthulhu Wars has stopped me getting a hundred other jobs done. There have been issues with the eBay platform itself as well as with PayPal and associated bank accounts, but hopefully everything is now working properly.

First up - four sets of gobbos sculpted by Kev from 4A and Midlam minis respectively, all with Fenris resin bases and free postage, worldwide. Every penny of profits (after eBay/PayPal fees) will go straight to Kev.

More minis to come, plus original greens, badges, and other bits and pieces as we get to them.

Yeah, they were a little hasty with the post about the badges - I saw the guy at Ainsty yesterday, and they hadn't turned up in the post in time :(

On the other hand, I did manage to pick up one of the self-sculpt packs from Foundry.

First batch of auctions is all done, and we've just sent another couple of hundred quid to help Kev out. Thanks again to everyone who made a bid, and congratulations to Paul Atkin and Nick Alderman for their winning bids

Any ETA on when they plan to have the GoblinAid sets up for sale? I was expecting they might do it a bit like a pre-order so that they could sell them before having them all cast, but maybe they're planning to have them actually cast first.

I think they want to get them all in hand and masters made before the put them up for preorder

that way the know what the metal costs for each set/figure will be

and equally important what the weights will be as I believe they're going to build the postage costs into the costs of the sets.

The last post they made on it was they were waiting for 2 greens to arrive from the states

when I spoke to the guy from Ainsty last weekend, he said they were still waiting on two of the models to make it across the Atlantic.

On the other hand, I got to see the green of Werner's Goblin pirate, and he looks ace

"Thank you loads for the latest lot of money and the last , i'm sorry ive not been in touch but it was a bad week last week with my elderly neighbour dying and we went to his funeral which was BIG .
It left me spending most of the week alone and feeling down as I've known him for half of my life .It's been a testing old year so far .Got another hospital appointment at nine in the morning so i'm hoping they will have a date for the operation , at least once thats done and dusted i can heal and get back working .
Have tried doing bits and can see ok but eyes are well out of focus and i need to go boss eyed to use both eyes so its frustrating .
Will let you know how it all goes later tomorrow."

I'll be picking up the Foundry self-portrait pack tomorrow when I get paid. Out of interest, does anyone know what that thing in his hand is supposed to be? Cigar? Burrito? Sausage Roll? Microphone?

Either a giant cigar (or maybe a spliff ?), it's textured as something rolled anyway,

and the official foundry paintjob has the end lit

I couldn't tell what it was despite (or because of?) the foundry paint. To be fair, probably despite. Well, Kev hails from that era of the design studio, after all...

Hopefully, lots of folks are lurking his thread; just waiting for the new sculpts to go on sale (like I am ).

I didn't spot that, you are my only source for news on this .

The packs look great, I think Pack 6 is my favorite, closely followed by Pack 4 (only really considering the fantasy ones, though, since that's what's useful to me). I wish the riders pack didn't have a mix of fantasy and sci-fi, as it seems like no matter what that pack won't be fully useful to most people.

Of course they will! I'm buying them to support Kev and (probably, eventually) paint up as display models. Getting a couple of figures that don't fit an army perfectly isn't an issue (I have fantasy O&G as well as 40k) - but the huge range of styles all but guarantees some odd ones. In this case, it's not really significant.

If you're looking to make whole units from the cav, maybe see if a 40k/Sci fi player wants to do a swap? I'm sure these models will hold some trade value regardless, being what they are...

Also goblins in almost all systems come with an assortment of more or less mechanical war machines,

slap some spikes, or a drill or something on the rocket car and proxy it as something that works for you

Ordered my stuff from Foundry. I went for 6 Kev-packs in the end. I'll probably convert some into different armies, maybe diorama one. More likely most will go into a box for awhile, but I'll try and paint up at least one as a tribute to the man who's given me a lot of pleasure from his sculpts through the years.

Got some Dredd stuff as well, as I'd always been wanting to get around to buying them.

Nice! I'm going to be traveling next week but hoping these are up for preorder or the like soon after I get back.

Fantastic day out for GoblinAid via Fenris/Ainsty/Foundry yesterday at Partizan near Newark. First outing for all of the GA greens in one place, prompting lots of oohing and ahhing and taking of pictures. They'll be on show again this coming weekend at Broadside in Sittingbourne and then the whole lot will be headed to Ral Partha for moulding and casting.

On top of that, Kev himself managed to get out in the fresh air and was over the moon with all of the models and couldn't thank us - and all of you - enough. He's still a good way from being able to work again yet and every penny has really helped him out.
