I could not make the tournament this weekend, Saturday got filled with work and fixing the deck. Did pop open the new boxed set of 8th edition and put together some of the PM's. Then stayed up till 2 basecoating and painting, Sunday was a bit of a drag. Here is a few pictures my progress.
In case you were wondering the tournament was won with a Tzeentch army, brimstones, heralds, flamers, LOC and a Knight. He went 3 and 0, second place went a dark Eldar player.

Hey guys, life has been busy and I am still working on those Plague Marines. Went and hunted thru some of my older armies and thought I would post up some pics of my Ultramarines. Built this detachment to ally with my blood angels as they had no access to grav at the time, they have only seen the tabletop twice since I painted them. If there is some interest I could post up some pics of my other "boxed"armies.

Really cool Ultras. I'd be interested in seeing the aforementioned Blood Angels too. Everyone loves Blood Angels.

You planning on adding to the Ultras, or are you just going to leave them as a small discrete force? At least they fit into a Patrol Detachment as they are.

I think those a smashing Yorkright. You should get them out and about more often! I also like the muted blue.... almost space-wolfy...nice change from the candy-blue I usually see for the ultras.

@ EDC here is the majority of my BA. Some of these were painted years ago so they are not a very uniform group, but I think they look pretty good on the tabletop.
The Ultramarines will stay as is for awhile, still getting my head wrapped around 8th edition.

I've fought them several times. Quite a formidable force. (pretty too!)

Nice Ultras' and crikey! Blood angels (photos like this remind me of how small my army is).

There's some real classics in those BA shots. Great stuff.

That's one mighty host. I sometimes wish I'd had the commitment to stick with a 40k force.

Thanks for the compliments, this army has been one of my favorites over the years of collecting. Someday I would love to use them all at the same time, points wise I think it is close to 8K.
Maybe I can talk Gitz into a mega battle some time...

You know it is funny, I always bang on about the silly space marines in their "shoot me!" bright armour. Even got a camo marine thing going, then I see a bunch of pics like this, just really awe-inspiring, and in particular the 3rd from last pic, you can't make out individuals, just a red tide of badassary descending upon you, fantastic.

Finally finished the Death Guard.

They are wonderful.

Very bold. Like em a lot.

I'm saving the drone until last as I did with the helbrute from DV.

@Solar, I am looking forward to painting the drone should be fun to try out some of the techniques I used on the Death Guard.

@Dr. H, they were not too bad to paint. Though they are busy with a lot details I tried to keep things simple and stuck with GW's color scheme. My favorite part to paint was their plague knives I probably put more work into some of those than other details. Definitely looking forward to seeing yours painted.
