I've waded in, I've used references to the show in my writing class for a student that asked me weeks ago if I was a brony (he's like the main character from Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, so he's got no understanding of social structure... so I've used MLP to get him on task)... I've asked another student that hated the show to write about it for his friday reflection, since he couldn't think of anything... Waded in, glitter is too hard to get out of my clothes...

I know, but it wasn't the picture that I wanted to paint, should anyone viewing this thread not know a lot about autism. I was hoping to paint more of a young man (he's 17) that is a little erratic, with no understanding of social situations, instead of slapping a label on him, and having random passersby to this thread see 'autistic' and make a judgement without knowing him. Though I do find it odd that the my mentor told me day one he will not swear to an adult 3 out of 4 times... I seem to be that 1 out of 4 every time...


As to the hive guard... no they cannot love unconditionally, well at least not outside synapse range...

I don't quite get what you mean. He's autistic, so therefore has trouble with social situations. That's generally the idea. "A little erratic, no understanding of social situations." *sigh* I understand that, but while I don't know what your background is in this situation, people are extremely judgmental about handicaps... Even if its not as serious as it could be.

Personally, I know like... one person who's autistic, in total. He's a friend, and since I only ever see him one-on-one, his autism has never really effected anything (I think he has a thing with groups of people).

As a teacher, everything we do and say is all about the CYA rule... We say one bad thing, and we're boned. I've just come to learn how to say things in a different way. Call it PC if you want, but at the end of the day, we all go home and talk about ponies and magic...

Give up trying to figure it out, I spent alot of time trying to do the same thing with the help of my Psych Masters student wife (she doesnt understand but supports my bronieness "with alot of good natured ribbing").
