I don't know if this is already mentioned, but, here it is..

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/daemons/catalog/default.htm

When I looked at the close up pics of the Daemonettes, it sure looked like the duplicated poses and paint jobs.. there seem to be 3 models that they just copied the images of.. making 7 unique sculpts..

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/daemons/catalog/daemonettes.htm

also.. they did the same thing for the plastic Bloodletters

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/daemons/catalog/bloodletters.htm

ARRGH.. that is sloppy..

Anybody else find it funny that now they're working the WHFB musicians into 40k with the "instrument of chaos"? Obviously the rules could be totally different, but I guess it just burned GW up inside to have those plastic musician parts go unused by all the 40k players.

Today I didn't even have to use my hot-shot las; I gotta say it was a good day.

You mean the musician actually has a function in the 40k rules? I had assumed that GW was banking on players buying the set to get the Icon, which acts as a homer. Please share.

The pictures describe the musician models as having an "Instrument of Chaos". That's all that can be gleaned from this, but I'm sure someone else around here knows more about the actual rules.

Instruments of Chaos kick in when a unit of daemons gets a tie in an Assault, and causes them to win said assault by 1 wound.

Man, the tongues on the Bloodletters have got to go, at least on some of them.

The other stuff is growing on me.

The bloodletters are VERY reminiscent of the old, 4th-early 5th ed. skinny scrunched up dudes.

I find it funny that the daemonettes have decided to put some clothes on.

As I said in the other thread, the bloodletters' scrawny weirdness and scary tongues aren't doing it for me any longer, but the plastic $2.20 demonettes I'm liking more of late. The not-even-one-boob thing is killing me but the rest of the sculpts are pretty cool. Not "OMG SEXY AWESOME" like the metal chicks, but still "ok" to "good" :S

Nope, can't get into the demonettes. I'll stick with the limited number I have and maybe find something from other ranges. I never liked the horrors either. I'm going with a ton of these:

That's good M888, think I could jam a load of those into my Khorne demon army as "Screaming Skull" screamers. Link where I can find 'em?

Look for Reaper Doom miniatures. It's odd that I don't see them on the Reaper web site.

I found a gallery of them here http://okapi.andrew.cmu.edu/lerchey/www/doom.html

My store has some of the cacodemons too. I'll pick up some of those too now that I see what they look like.

i'm still a big fan of the last edition metal demonettes, but the plastic leader is wicked...the flowin' hair takes the win...
i like the move back to the old school bloodletters...the last two editions never did it for me...
i love the new nurgle palaquin, but can't stand the rider...
looks like i'll have to bust out one of the old riders, and make a little conversion...

cheers

The description of the daemonettes seems to imply that they look like trannies so all genders will think they're hot. Yeah, good luck with that.

I think they're going for more of a David Bowie thing...

That soulgrinder sounds like its near invincible by the description. Might have to pick up one of those models so I can find a good way to kill it

Heaviest. Model. Ever.

But groovy description, makes me want one even more. And considering AV13 and its weapons not totally inaccurate little blurb.

Take a look at this news story and you'll find out why you can't find them on Reaper's web site. It's because they're OOP.

We talked about this with the ork book and concluded that it's probbly because they only had a few masters to work wtih to paint for the book and the website. So it might not JUST be laziness.

They could have at least taken shots from different angles instead of just copy/pasting the same figs over again.

I must admit I like the Daemonettes, there is an other-worldy look about them, sorta like the creatures in Sleepwalkers, they'd make you take a double check if you glanced at them, was that a Human face? just before you die kinda thing.

The bloodletters are also okay, and I plan on getting some asap to replace the older metal ones which I mainly have (not the current metal ones, the ones before them.)
