Hey, long time lurker first time poster here.
I've been doing some research, and it's been rough trying to find competitive Daemonhunter lists. The one that stood out recently was one with a couple landraiders, attached to a Imperial Guard list.
Anyone have list ideas? I really like the Inquisitor faction as a whole fluff-wise, and would love to play an at least semi-competitive list composing of them.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Pure GK lists can be quite competitive. The Land Raider is a good way to go when filled with GKTs. Fast attack GK units with Psycannons and Incinerators are able to quickly do massive damage to enemy units. And the basic GK packs a solid punch with some decent defensive abilities.
If you really want some Guard stuff in there, feel free to induct a unit or two. But I don't really think it's needed.

Lemartes took 1st place in our 1st round of ard boyz last year, and almost took round 2 with them as well.
Even at 1500 all GK mostly hang back around the board edge and blast away with psycannon units. plus some terms in a land raider and you have got a force that most people are going to have some issues dealing with.
Fast mobile shooty arimes can overcome this though, having a low model count makes it easy to eliminate your squads if they can get close enough that shrouding doesnt really stop them from hitting.
If the 5th rumors hold up some of the things that used to get them will be less effective (rending, skimmers moving 12" and shooting all of their weapons, etc)

Compared to other competitive lists GK can stack up? I honestly have never heard that :S
I don't actually like Imperial Guard, they are a bit too bland for me I do like Inquisitors, though.

With troops being scoring, doesn't that take away from FA GK squads/terminators?
Still looking for more input. Thanks!

Everything is scoring right now: termies, land raiders, etc.
Let's worry about 5th edition when it is actually published.
And...yes. I've seen GK win tournaments before. They certainly aren't one of the premere uber-lists (Nidzilla, tri-Falcon, etc.) but that could just mean that they are ballanced rather than broken.
Compare the GK trooper to a NM with a Sonic Blaster. They are the exact same cost. I think you will see that GK compare quite well. They are expensive, but the cost is just about right for what they can do.

As much as I love my daemonhunters...by no way are they a 1st or even 2nd tier list.

I think GK's can be a strong list, but they are not an easy list. It's sort of like SoB, but instead of clever use of distance and faith, you have to be REALLY careful with a very low body count. Some people do well with it, but it is not easy by any stretch.
If they made plastic GKs though, I would definitely have a small army for fun.

I really like Demonhunters because I like to play small, elite armies.
Demonhunters do well against some armies, but there lack of high strength, high AP weaponry stops them from being a competitive list. They generally do well, but whenever you go up against a mech, or a MEQ army, you are in trouble.

I appreciate your opinion more than most, as you appear (From threads I have read) to be well versed in the competitive side of 40K.
From what we've seen of 5th, what armies do you believe to be 1st/2nd Tier? I'd especially like to know if you think an army that might be weak right now will get bumped up to the big leagues for the new edition.
Do you think you could place with your Daemonhunters at all in a competitive tournament?

I've done well with pure GK just before the Eldar codex came out a couple years back. AV 14 generally doesn't threaten an infantry heavy list, and it's quite easily avoidable.
I also like to play elite armies. I disagree that they don't work well vs MEQ, but then again I haven't played against the new Chaos with them. Mech armies on the otherhand, (Of the skimmer variety) are very tough, I agree.

I have an old tactica up, it's from 3rd edition but worth a look.

My bottom line advice is, don't discount ISTs. I use ISTs in rhinos whenever I can to take objectives or give me some drive-by shooting and I love them to death.
GKs with IG allies for shooting support are a fine army list.
