Subject: Force Weapons and Psychic powers in 5th

I was reading through the copy of the new 5th Ed rulebook in my FLGS. I saw the weapon categories and on the next page there was a little box that had force weapons in it. I think I may have misunderstood or simply misread it. But I believe it said that models with force weapons get one extra psychic test a turn but that it may only be used to activate the force weapon. If that were true though some models would be swinging quite a few insta kill shots, like Tzeentch Sorcerers, three chances to hit/wound/test to outright kill a model and chances get good if he has warptime too.
I was just wondering if anyone read it the same as I did. And if it is so, did models with force weapons just get a lot better?

Good news if you read it right. Force weapons have been underwhelming for quite a while, IMO. It's about time they actually got used. Maybe now all those "I use VoT and the FW to kill DPs with my libby" newbie ideas will finally come to fruition.

I believe you misread it, though I was somewhat rushed when I was reading the new rulebook Saturday night.

Yep. CSM DP's are immune but you can get your moneys worth on a 100 point greater demon. That many people don't run. LOL.
Everything in the Demons dex is immune to instant death ... poor grey knights ... Force weapons wer designed to kill demons and demons just evolve.

It does state that they get an extra pyshic power, but it can not be used in a turn with another power. The big change, and marine players will not like this too much, is that they call it a psyhic power. They also state that using it is a psychic test. So that means that anything that affects a pys power will also affect the force weapon, ie Eldar runes, Psychic hood, ect.

It's always been that way.

Darn. Force Weapons are even worse now, since they actually cause Instant Death, instead of just removing the model.
Damn it, Chaos.
Although, yeah, the activation of a Force Weapon has always been a psychic power.

Yeah, basically GK grandmasters become chumps vs. daemons again. So lame. I guess, it's time to switch to a daemon hammer then. Sacred Incense, Grimoir, and daemon hammer seems like the best equipment vs. chaos now.
