Pretty cool, I like the corsairs, but I wonder if you could/or will be able to structure an army around them. The knights are ok, but the helms look like feudal Samurai helms? The hydra looks bad from the front, but the pics I saw over on warseer make it look ten times better, but I wish it was a plastic kit though...I have no idea why they made it a metal kit??

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

those cold ones are insanely wicked. I have to concur I am not real big on the new armour, I would have preferred something more styled and less platemail looking.

The hydra at the bottom of thep age is the old fugly kit. I haven't seen anything on my release sheets about metal or plastic.

Cold Ones look great, though I really can't see much of the Corsairs. Was there even a problem with the old Corsairs? I thought they looked great. Then again, they weren't in plastic.

EDIT: Ok, the new helms on the Corsairs are an improvement. I would still like to see how the new Sea Dragon Cloaks (if they still carry them) look.

Over at WARSEER (Tactics!) there are pictures and conversations that make it look as if the new Hydra is indeed plastic!

Can anyone confirm or deny?

My local store guy confirmed it was a metal release... mind its Portugal and its not a GW store ( we dont have GW here) so take it with a grain of salt.

100% guarentee you it is metal-- the pics are of the master.

Ah, oh well...

I do like the model, though it looks to be fun to put (and stay!) together.

The new cold ones will probably make me buy the army!

They would have benefited immensely from having smaller heads. But it doesn't look that bad.

Needs smaller heads or a bigger body to counter balance itself. Otherwise it's cool.

Three of the head are identical. It's a bit annoying. Better than that current, hydra, however.

The Cold Ones are probably the best Cold Ones they've ever done, and they've made many over the years. It looks like I've finally found my space marine riding lizards.

Okay, I have been calling the new hydra fugly ever since I saw the first pictures of it.

I have officially changed my mind. I recant all the bad things I said, about the model and about Trish. Now that I have seen 1) a good close up of the miniature with 2) a good paint job, I like it. I like it a lot.

Which brings me to this question- why do so many studio paintjobs of new miniatures (which you would think would be planned to make the figures look good) actually make them look so so bad? I had this same reaction with the new plastic dire wolves- the studio job GW used in their ads & on the spearhead box cover made the models look awful. Only after some hobbyists got ahold of them and tried alternative paint schemes did we get to see the true potential of the miniature.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Like all GW reptilianesque monsters, the body is too small. Why!?

QFT.

It is an OK looking model. Maybe a squatter body and raised heads like in God of War would be better but meh.
