I called up GW's direct sales number to order a ticket to the Chicago GT. I was informed that they had a promotion going on where if you spent $100, they'd send you a limited edition marine dude. Ok, sure...

I was going to give it to my friend for his Ultramarine force, but then it ended up on my painting desk and so I figured I'd better paint it (for his 3rd company, and still gave it to him).







I love how you see all your mistakes in the big pictures.

That's a well painted marine.
Clearly you were not trying to win a slayer sword with it.
It's going to look great on a table top.
Your free hand work on the shoulder pad looks good, Also like the Eyes and the end of the scope.

Not to burst your bubble but the reason why the model is being given away is because it's faulty, more specifically it's too big by about a an eighth of an inch or so.

Lemme see:

I want to say the model was three parts: body, bolter arm, and backpack.

He is slightly taller than other marines, but that's due to the pose as well. Most marines have their legs sligtly bend and a wide stance (like that republican guy). This guy is standing on a really straight leg that has only a small angle between him and ground.

Or, maybe it's just a taller model because it's easier to have your cool looking sergeant stand out a little bit.

Whatever. I think it is still available as part of their new website promotion.

Is it just me or is the black spot on his left foot missing some silver?

Very nice paint job, and I know someone else mentioned it but if your looking for friend and you know... a special edition Tyranid comes out... lol. Nice paint sir!
