I see lots of people talking about using different miniatures for counts as armies. Back in the day almost the entire model had to be from GW to be used in a GW store / GD. What is the current rule for that?

100% but you can get away with small stuff like partial models.

Last I was in Glen Burnie one of the guys working said that the base model had to be GW, but that anything else could be what ever.

Generally there is a lot of difference between cutting a Gw minaturer with scratch components than with components by other manufacturers.
You can get away with Pig Iron heads, but putting Cadian heads on WW2 28mm infantry wont do.
Now you could make a tank entirely out of plasticard, or for that matter out of a non wargaming kit. But if you used rival gaming manufacturers you would have problems.
Making a dred out of a warmachine jack is a no no, even if you give it GW guns.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

What if the torso, head, and arms are from GW models, but the legs are from another company?

1 model they probably wouldn't care.
I have a fearful image in my head that if you turned up at a GW store with an army fully sculpted out of modeling putty & expertly painted with Vallejo paints (good quality job), of a tubby manager running after you trying subdue you with the rulebook so he can take the money out of your wallet...
so for it to be games workshop kosher you must include at-least enough GW bits and pieces so GW will have made as-much if not more money off of you as if you had bought a non-converted army!

Alrighty. I'm planning on doing some Obliterator conversions (9 total) to go with my Undead themed CSM army. I'm going to use Terminator parts for the torsos and use a wraith-cloak type body from another company for the lower part, so I was just wondering in case I ever decided to go to a Grand Tournament or something.

as you may have seen in another thread I'm currently building harakoni warhawks.
do you reckon these would be allowed? The head is pig iron and the back pack and gun are hasslefree.

I'd have no problem with it, but I haven't played in a GW store in years, and GW don't do GTs here anymore.
I'm using some other PI heads on my cadians which ( with some GS armour & gun mods) will become stormtroopers.
