Hurrah for Khorne?

Glad to see that the Blood God still has a blind spot as far as goofy headgear is concerned...

It will be his downfall!

Well they certainly meet the criteria for GW EVIL!!!

Innapropriate headgear aside I quite like it.

But why are the chaos cherubs carryling loudhailers? Or are they bells?

The cover is horrible, the champion model looks ace though.

In the unlikely event that the Khorne champion losses both in arms he can still behead his opponents with his helmet.

But I hadn't seen the champion and I think he's kickarse!

The Lord looks great. Might swap out the head though.

Thanks Noisy and Eric, good to see more WoC stuff hitting the scene. The cover is pretty underwhelming, partially because it's so damn bright (and actually looks CG-ish to me, like digitally painted and partially rendered or some crap). Adrian Smith it ain't.

The model, impressive. That's Arbaal v2.0 I take it? Bit and mean, though headswap is being begged for.

Arbaal was riding a huge flesh hound AFAIR.

And they really should have Dainton do the cover. Whatever he touches with paints turns into gold.

The cover is definitely Adrian Smith piece!

the khorne lord is phenomenal. especially compared to the last khorne lord. although you can see the bloodcrusher underneath it all.
i dunno about that cover though i didnt think they did cg covers for the codexes??

"Be not that far from me, for trouble is near; haste Thee to help me. Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me"

It's certainly not CG. It's Smith. He's quite good when it comes to monsters and his Engra was ace but he seems to be getting a bit carried away with over stylization. This piece actually looks like a ripoff from Chronopia (which he accidentally also illustrated).

I think the cover looks fine. It's right in line with the current style of covers that have been coming out. The figure is bad ass. I hope the stats reflect its bad assness.

Alright, so it might just be Smith, I'll give you guys that. All the same very bright and nowhere near his demon covers (which are completely excellent). HMV is right on about this one being more Chronopia than WHFB though.

Also @ HMV, Arbaal did ride the big flesh hound but I had heard that every god is getting a returning special character, in addition to the various other SC in the new book. Kr0n > Arbaal, Tizz > Aekold, Slaanesh > Dechala, Nurg > ???. I figured that as many character models in the spearhead as possible would in fact be named characters, not genericly usable ones.

That Lord puts Archaon to shame, not to mention the old Khorne Lord. Hopefully they'll make him into a spawn (Archaon, not the Khorne guy).

Nope.

I believe the characters in the book are : Archaon, Gaulrach, androngynous looking Slaanesh character, Chaos Marauder raider king/pirate, scyalla-- old spawn character, a Shaggoth special character, and some weird chaos monster guy who lets you take monsters/trolls ( not sure exactly) as core and the whole army can benefit from his LD.

There's some talk about a demon Prince character too but that doesn't seem right to me for this book but could be I guess !

Yoor Speeshawl too Gawd!

I dunno the cover looks more like a Chaos lord beat up a Skorne cataphract and stole his armor. Champion is rather meh, but I loves me some of that Juggernaught. I just hope the range will not be an exclusive Khorne and Slaanesh production with a couple of poo models made for Nurgle and Tzeentch.

Only now do I realize how much I prefer Pete Haines' "misprints" to Gav Thorpe's "brainfarts." :Abadabadoobaddon

That lord is pretty impressive. I'm looking forward to some decent conversion fodder if that level is kept up.

Not keen on the cover.

All the same, a decent line up. I was most interested to see Aekold return (a very easy 'port' to 7th - gw, ASF, regen ... which makes it sound like you can just make your own, with the helm of eyes and the regen hat :S), but ah well. Guess Scylla is the only really old skool one to return? Archaon and Galrauch being 6E, course. Interested in the monster guy, particularly if chaos trolls get the cracked out regen boosts (and not crappy stupidity rolls??).

Amazing Khorne warlord mini. Never before this point have I ever been tempted to buy a Chaos model just to paint it up and have it.

I much prefer the old Chaos cover to this one. Seems like far too much of a rainbow of colors going on there for a Khorne force. That Chaos Warrior on the cover of the last edition was THE Chaos Warrior as far as I'm concerned.

I have to admit, the warlord is decent...but the Jugger is the bee's knees. It's one of those models that is so good, you consider a new army for it.

The Lord on Juggernaut is insanely awesome. I don't care for the horns on the lord, but that's easy to fix.

The army book cover looks too "clean" for my tastes, but I really like the grittier 6th edition HoC cover.

Like everyone else love the khorne hero model, just not the head.

Its models like that that get you started on armies.
Last edition for me it was the boob rider of slaanesh hero.
