Here's the latest info from DreamForge.

Project Update #70: Current production status.
As we close in on the end of the month many of you may be wondering where we are in the process and if we will meet our expected shipping dates. I am hesitant to post updated based on conjecture but I will share with you where we are and what the plan is.
The Leviathan Crusader is nearly complete and many of the sprues have already gone through the test shots and are in the final mold tweaking phase where they enlarge some of the gates to deal with any under pressure issues that could cause sink marks in the models surface.
The ten man and twenty man sets are in the mold cutting phase.
The accessory set and the support weapons have completed the mold draft and will be going into tooling within the next couple of days.
As we are closing in on the shipping day, a fast boat has been chartered from China, leaving the first week of November with an expected sea travel time of 16 to 18 days, this shipment will contain the Leviathan Crusaders and Left Vulkans along with the 10 and 20 man sets. The Ada, Shadokesh, accessory set and support weapons set will be airmailed to the US so that all of stage 1 will be available to ship before the end of November.
I do not have specific dates at this point but the goal is to get our domestic and international customers their items before Christmas.
All the best!
Mark

Interesting that a "fast boat" will still take 16+ days to make the crossing. I guess the biggest uncertainty in the timeframe will be how long it takes to clear Customs.

Well Tann it's still an entire OCEAN. It'd take months to make that kind of crossing even just a couple decades ago.

It was always November for Stage 1, but most Kickstarters tend to have delays in shipping product anyway. Honestly, I would be surprised if they really did ship in November (ship from WGF to us, anyway, as I would expect them to ship from China in November).

Yeah, but the guys in my gaming group are now saying that it's taking a lot of time to get their stuff. And considering some of them want Mortii rather than Crusaders, I'm going to be hearing "Is it here yet?" a lot.

Well if you consider a "fast" cargo ship (of reasonable charter cost) is probably running about 15 knots (around 17 MPH), it takes a long time to cross the Pacific.
IIRC the newest, most advanced (and expensive) generation of super freighters can do a little over 30 knots full out, cruise would typically be more like 25 knots.

still 70 backers not completed the pledge manager! If it is not completed by 5th November, those orders will not be included in the air shipment and those components that would have been shipped by air (I presume the KS exclusives and freebies from Stage 1) will be delayed until the next SEA shipment!
Mark Mondragon wrote:We still have 70 backers of the Kickstarter that have not completed the pledge manager. We are at the point that the manufacturer needs the total from all of the backers to identify how many of each product will need to be produced in order to satisfy the outstanding orders.
If you have not completed the pledge manager, we have no idea what to send you.
If you still need to complete the pledge manager, do so now.
If you do not have your login information to complete the pledge manager please follow these instructions, posted in update #66 ‘Ten day warning’
“The pledge manager will be taken off line November 1st, you will need to complete your pledge manager information before November 1st so that we can get your orders finalized.
You should have received an email with the link and sign on information for your account.
If you have not received the email, please contact dfg@wargamesfactory.com and ask them to re-send.”
Wargames Factory will try one more round of emails to contact the backers that still need to complete the pledge manager, if your spam filter is not letting the emails through, please check their first. We will of course honor your pledge but it may be subject to shipping delays, as outlined below.
PLEASE BE AWARE
Backers of the Kickstarter who have not completed the pledge manager may be subject to shipping delays if they do not complete the process by November 5th as the air shipment of some of the kits will not contain their orders and they will need to wait until a second sea shipment can be arranged.
For new backers that have registered an account but have not completed your pledge manager and payment. This is your last opportunity to do so. The pledge manager will be taken off line tomorrow morning, and any open accounts that have not completed an order and made payment will be deleted with no opportunity to participate in the Kickstarter pricing or other benefits given to Kickstarter backers.
**The pledge manager will stay online for review purposes but you will not be able to place an order or make any changes.
Once again, a huge thank you to all the supporters!

Double check your spam folder, then e-mail them and ask them to re-send it. You should be able to join in, but you might not get the pledge manager in in time to take advantage of the air shipping - you would then receive your stage 1 and 2 components together around next May if I have read things right, so not too much of a wait.

I expect the later stages will be on time. They've probably already scheduled the manufacturing timeslots with the factory, so it may really just be a matter of Mark getting the 3D files to them in time for the tooling. I doubt they would be done earlier, unless someone else who had a project scheduled with the factory has to cancel, thus freeing up their timeslot. I assume that's how it works with these Chinese factories: they basically contract their manufacturing services to multiple clients?

That's how it works in all countries in the main. I can't name a single company these days that does all their moulding 'in-house' and therefore has an eclusive set-up. Moulding companies like to do large batch runs of stuff as it saves them time swapping out the tooling on a frequent basis. The smaller the run, the more time they lose and the higher the cost per unit. Larger runs are more desirable as it gives the moulder a certain stability of income and reduces their downtime for mould changes, material purges and the like.
