A while ago from a grand tourney I saw a very nicely put together and painted imperial fist army. Basically it was the character, 3 squads of termies, some speeders, and like 3 squads of scouts. These scouts were all formerly plastic marines with the helmets trimmed down, backpacks removed and greenstuffed for the vents, and arms swaps for sniper riffles if I recall correctly. I was interested in doing some of these up, but blast if I cant find a trace of em anymore. Probably a longshot but I have failed in my search-fu. Anyone remember what Im talking about?

I've only ever seen some marines, striped-down version, no shoulder pad or backpack.

I recommend that you try it yourself. Worse come to worse, you don't like them, and try something new.

Also, if you start doing this, put it up in this section. Maybe someone will know what you are taking about.

I wopuld buy the current scouts, by GW miniatures prices they are not especially expensive.

If you want to convert because you dont like the look of the scouts go ahead and do as you will, though I would start by looking at converting Catachans to scouts than marines.

Hmm, someone had a thread with some relictor scouts for a kill team. These were a mix between marine and catachan parts, and looked great.

Sadly no piccies, but basically, the lower legs were marine, rest of the leg was catachan with GS crotch armor.

Marine chest armor, catachan arms (i believe) and backpacks finished off the conversion, very nice stuff indeed.

I did a few with the Marine/Guard bits combinations back before the plastic scouts came out...

Insaniak I apreciate the examples. The ones I saw though were very nice, just cant remember which white dwarf they were in. Basically they were marines with no shoulderpads, the legs filed down to be thinner, no packs, greenstuff vents on the backs, and filed down helmets. I dunno mabye ill try and make some from memory. But I do apreciate the pictures as it gives me good ideas for alternatives and how to make sniper riffles. I was thinking about adding a long barrel to a bolter and cutting the clip real short, but yours look good too.
