About the same length of time, I have no idea what's going on...there's quite a few members of dakka who post there too, maybe one of them can shed some light?

it made me wonder if they are running on the same servers. I was getting the same errors when trying to use their forums, then both sites went down within a few minutes of each other

It's a shame to see them down for so long. It really disrupts a community, and is an easy way to lose members.
Plus, when they come here for the first time, we have to learn 'em the rules REAL good.

I don't think that's it. The B&C was returning database errors before it went down. I think something bad happened to their server.

Warseer has a few posts from some of the staff of B&C. They said it was having tech difficulties that started Friday. The people that could fix it properly were either at LA Games Day or on vacation (UKer visiting Spain). They hoped to be back up today or tomorrow. There were a few other GW themed sites hosted on the same box and they are down too (DA Waaagh and DeathGuard.org were mentioned).

Lots of hearsay.
I do enjoy B&C even if I'm not nearly as active there as I am here. But with the revamp of my marines still in progress, I did get lots of great feedback from folks there.
If any B&C Mods/Admins reading this have any info, feel free to let us know whats up!

Back when they originally did that to sites, they only could do it against websites which used registered trademarks in the name.
So is 'waaagh', 'chainsword' or 'bolter' trademarked by GW?
