Ok so all my tactical marines need to have true grit. I have about 4-6 made, and the rest are under construction. Does anyone know how to convert these guys quickly?

unless they are grey knights I dont think they can have true grit. Also if you do have true grit (which means to use a storm bolter in conjunction with a CCW for +1 attack in CC) then you get no bonus from charging.

Basically all you have to do is add a storm bolter to the marine's arm.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Two ways. Get a pair of close combat arms, cut off the bolt pistol and glue on a Bolter. Voila.

Second way the Bolter arm that goes across the chest, cut it at the elbow and reposition it. Give the other arm some kind of close combat weapon.

Right behind you...

And don't forget to make all their heads bald and screaming. We all know that you can only have true grit if you shave all your hair and yell constantly...

Vompire, welcome to Dakka. Please use punctuation in the future. You’re arguments will be sign with greater merit and you’ll avoid people calling you on it.

The new marine Codex still hasn't come out yet - Marines with traits can still have True Grit, as can Space Wolves. Tacobake's recommendations are what I would go for as the easiest.

ok ... I've been doing that.. But it takes a hella long time... and i keep on losing the arm sections so any other ideas?

I've been reduced to rumaging through my friends chaos bits for arms (it actually works pretty well, but when i'm battling people who haven't known me throughout the long sad saga of my botched conversions, they keep on staring at my guys arms like WTF?! and it completely trips them out, I think thats why I won one game

I started integrating close combat weapons and the bolters. Some folks with bayonets, some with chainsword/bolter combos and the like.

Yeah,
I have some of my Plague marines holding a bolter and bolt pistol tarantino style!
PMs used to have true grit now they just have all the weapons...
I think this is how marines will be in the new codex. No True Grit just a bolter and bolt pistol and a close combat weapon...

Is True Grit even in the new 5th Ed rule book USRs?

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

Just to clear things up isn't "true grit " firing two bolters , one in each hand , as in rooster cockburn from the film true grit. Or is it two bolt pistols?

True Grit is the ability of being so bad ass you can fire a Boltgun with one hand. So yes.

It is synonomous with firing an assault rifle like a submachine gun. A Bolt Pistol being an Uzi and a Bolter/ Boltgun being an AK-47.

So a Space Wolf is 8 feet tall, more animal than man, with a six foot Chain-sword (Chain-saw-sword?) and a 50 lbs Fully Automatic Grenade Launcher that can blow away crowds of people in minutes. And he does this all the same finesse Bruce Lee demonstrates with Nunchaku.

Nice!

I've done a bayonet on the gun, and chainswords. Also just leaving them as is works. True grit is described as essentially pistol whipping with the bolter; albeit the fact taht they hold the bolter one handed.

You could always put a knife behind one of the shoulders, essentially glued just in front of their packs. Easy to grab a knife and do some stabbing along with pistol whipping.

What I did was just model them with the bolter in both hands and the just put on a ccw weapon, Knives and chainswords etc. Plenty of them in a grey hunters box.

Normally I'm not one to correct spelling, but I believe you're thinking of Rooster Cogburn.

Unless of course you're talking about the X-rated spinoff sequel, "Rooster Cockburn (...and the Ladies)"

Today I didn't even have to use my hot-shot las; I gotta say it was a good day.

You have read the true grit rules, yes?

You don't need to model it. Just tell your opponent you have it.

If you really really really really gotta have it, just get a bunch of sheathed blades off a guard player and slap 'em on their thighs/lower legs. Many guard players eschew the extra kit, so I'm sure you can find them if you ask around your local FLGS.

I would say it is just like scutters just tell the apponent that the models have it and if they question it show them your list and your codex...no sence in modeling something that really does not have anything tto be modeled...

also true grit to me just means they know how to make a tighter fist around the gun b4 they fire it.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

It shouldnt be a USR as only marines can get it. So this makes sense, there is no guarantee it wont remain a Space Wolf and grey Knight special rule. The minis are geared up that way.

You know come to think of it you could be right , although on reflection Cockburn could probably fixed with some cream.

p.s. I'm sure there's a brand of Sherry called cockburns , but pronounced co-burns. Co-burns , Cogburn we all know what they really mean to say.
