Here is an army I had an idea for a while back when I came upon a lot of spare bare shadowsun heads. Its basically over the top and bright, trying to play off the anime aspect of the Tau. I paint so many armies I like to do a few now and then to sell that are humorous and catch people completely off balance.
I got a comment on youtube "sweet hot tau WOW" or something like that. I guess I did my job.
No I forgot to snap a pic of the army on the game table. Its not a "swing camera over" kind of thing so thats why, I have to use a different tri pod. However if you search me on youtube there is a video of them all together.

Got to admit, the only thing I dislike are the faces on the skimmers, but other than that... They look amazing! And the one with the pink "V"... might steal that idea if I ever do Tau!
Anyway, glad to see you're still producing great quality stuff!
Who would've said that Tau could be sexy...
EDIT: By the way, how did you do the bone, and the purple on the Battlesuits? They look spectacular...

The bone is just bleached bone to white. The purple on the suits is just liche purple with white for highlights. The purple on the one FW squad is liche purple to hawk turquoise.
Aight, thanks! BTW, it was only on a second pass* that I saw that the squads and vehicles are linked by colours. Very interesting idea, it must look stunning on the battlefield!
*Sorry, I was just looking at details the first time!

Just take your time, and for big areas I like to use more glaze medium than water as it makes the paint thinner for putting it on but it covers just as well.
Those look awesome. I like the free hand head, but personally think it would have been better suited for the dome entry hatches rather than the front. The bubbles looked great and the V shape design looks really sharp. I like it.
See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:
Thanks for linking to youtube. Ill say what I said there, all that weird stuff the red stick does is of its own accord. It was like 4 feet long and kept bobbing but I didnt realize how bad it was hhahaha.
ok, credit where its due, the faces on the DF's are amazing, just some ideas convertion wise for battle suits.
something gundam wing themed.
something with a ghost in the shell S.A.C theme
both woud match the tech and looks well.
also, how long does it take to paint the freehand faces?
amazing army, and by the look on my GF's face she wants me to start painting tau lol.
Edit: also, ever thought of doing a whole anime wrap on a DF? a nice big scene that covers the whole thing would look amazing, time consuming, but amazing.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
The faces were sort of a last minute idea to help link them with the troopers and the anime theme, they didnt take but an hour, I did them all at once.
If I had felt like waiting, I think the forge world suits would have looked a lot better with this army, but hey what can you do.
im currently working on a way of adding some ghost in the shell units into my army, just trying to find parts that would look right.
the gundam suits might be easier, but the FW ones look great.

Awesome painting on the tanks, but arent the tau women (I havent read the tau codex) part of their own caste, like the air caste or something? I don't really know ._.
Nice and clean, but for an all-girl joke army, I kinda expected to see a little more cleavage. These lil sisters are crying out for a bikini-clad mob of Kroot...
