Heard this was going to happen on Friday before the tourney.

Stelek was claiming that noone was PMing him or giving him phone numbers for grudge matches like this about a week or so ago.

Then when the fires were fanned and Parker PM'ed him for a game Friday....suddenly Stelek's card was filled and he didnt know if he'd have time to face off against him outside of the tournement.

If it happens...awesome. Marc isnt impressed by internet tough guys, he's not interested in posturing...something stelek does REAL well. Marc isnt the big computer guy, unless he's playing Rome total war, otherwise he couldnt care less about using a keyboard....I dont even think the guy CAN type.

Parker has a proven tournement track record that many people know of (and respect) and will trip over himself on his way to a challenge...

Stelek....apparently, not so much.

FYI I promised Goatboy a game first, which wasn't a challenge just an amusing game to meet & greet.

Anyway. We played after the tournament was over.

I had a blast.

I went destructor-less against the Orks and just went right into him on turn 2 for maximum fun.

After (I think?) eight fun filled rounds of carnage gaz, mad dok, and half a boyz squad were left standing.

I'm not sure how many orks I killed, but it was a hell of a good game.

He can tell you what he thought himself.

I believe Blackmoor and eleven other guys were there watching.

Great fun.

Oh it went like this:

Lootas shoot non-seer councils. They die, run and hide.

Orks + Seer Councils get to fighting.

We fight for many turns.

I think 5th it was all over.

I don't know why someone emailed me Marc was bringing Orks and I should bring destructors. I stripped them all off. Glad I did.

Holy hell... was there ever a peanut gallery: looked down and it appeared that it was Stelek vs the 10 guys on the other side of the table, lol.

I conceded, not possible to win.

Marc says you had 2 warlocks when you conceded engaged with Ghaz, Doc, and half of a boyz squad. (close to the middle objective?) With him having two waiting units of 13 Lootaz and you with a smallish jetbike squad left.

Marc-2 HQ's, a scoring troops unit, and two large loota squads

Stelek- 2 jetbike Warlocks (farseers gone), ?-jetbikers

....with Marc essentially controlling the board. (your 'locks essentially dead and if your bikers try to take the objective you get blasted off the table)

...just trying to get an accurate picture of what happened, this about right? Sounds like a hell of a battle, I know how hard an opponent Marc is. I'm sorry I missed it in person.

I have to respect Stelek for turning up and fighting. It shows he is not just a big talker.

Your quest for knowledge of how a pick up game went seems almost unhealthy, as does your attraction to this Marc fellow. The nerdmanlove in this thread is strong. Or is it some attempt to show Stelek got beat? He seemed to admit that a few posts up.

The original list I was going to run was:

2 10 man seer councils with 6 and 7 destructor locks each, embolden, enhance.

Farseer 1: Doom, Fortune, Stones.
2: Fortune.

6 guardian jetbikess w/2 shuricannons and warlock w/embolden.

Then loser emails me Marc is playing Orks, and I removed the destructor locks when I saw it was true.

Seemed like being a douchebag about it wasn't going to impress anybody.

I've actually been really interested in how this game was going to go. As were apparently 11-12 other people that happened to be there as indicated above.

Marc's my old college roomate and gaming pal/tourney running mate since '96. My cell died at work and I couldnt get the full story from him.

...and Stelek has yet to say he was BEATEN. There is actually a very large difference in being BEAT, as you put it, and "Conceding with no way to win" as HE put it.
I doubt we'll see Stelek actually saying that he was BEATEN. No he didnt indicate that anywhere above.

Marc is the defacto leader of 40kwreckingcrew.com, my interest in the battle is twofold. I wanted to know how my buddy fared against the Infamous stelek, and I'm reporting it at our website on our forums in the 'Members' section.

My first post here was 'a bit' challenging I guess, course I dont remember implying that anyone is/was a douche, as I dont resort to name-calling.
