So, the Ultramarines were so boring army that I couldn't continue to do them after one squad... I then moved to Flames of War stuff for awhile and started a Heavy Gear army too. Well, now I'm back to 40K and starting a new marine project. This time an old love, the Space Wolves!

I have finished the biggerising part of the eight Grey Hunters. Now moving on to the details. I should get these ready to paint in few days... So here's a wip pic .

Great! At squad level you really begin to see the impact "true scaling" them makes.

You guys with your biggerizing projects. It almost makes me want to take up the GS and sculpting tools and take a crack at it. Almost.

A whole army of true scaled marines is ridiculous and awesome. Migs and yourself are most definitely insane.

This one I am very interested in. I haven't seen anyone do the true scaling yet. And, the Wolves definitely deserve it.

Blood, check out Migsulas Crescent Guards thread then, he has already done the true scale marine army! Mine are just a pale imitation of them, spiced with bit of barbarism to them.

I've always had a thing for 'Rymdvargar' Marines (if that's the correct translation) and these
should be some kind of textbook example of how they should look. Great work!

As for biggerizing, would you mind going into detail on what exactly you do when you do this?
Are there any online tutorials or something that shows which parts to buff up or similar?

I had this land speeder I had made for the ultramarines back then, which I now re-decorated a bit to use with my wolves. Added stuff to the base too. Sorry for the bad pic, but I had already undercoated it in black and that doesn't photograph that well... Anyways, a speeder for the woofs with very little effort!

Base looks particularly good, though some of the details are a bit washed out. Looking forward to paint as always ^_-.

I finished four more Grey Hunters. Need to finish the last four and then I can start painting these.

Kneeling wolf is my new favorite of the pack so far.

I think some better lit photos could help folks get a better feel for where the project is going. Some light from the front as well as what you have here would work wonders.

These are just quick photos I snap in the night after the modeling session with the ceiling lamp the only light source... When I get these suckers painted I'll try to take better lighted photos. Maybe I need to buy a new desk lamp or something to help with the light issues.

One question though. What tools are you using when you do the beard details? I can´t seem to get hair looking right...

I have about 8 different sculpting tools, of which I use 3 the most of the time. My main tool has always been the GW sculpting tool for some reason, but I happened to buy an "Army Painter" set of sculpting tools, where there were a great, sort of rounded spearhead shaped tool that seems to be made for this hair/fur work. The other end of that tool is a large flat blade that is perfect for smoothing large gs areas.

Two more done, two left to do, then I'll slap some paint on 'em.

I tried to take this photo with ceiling lamp and desklap for more light. I guess the light comes too much from the left and leaves the right fig in shadow, but I think this improves the lightning conditions a bit neverthless.

Really shaping up well, and keeping them feral is definately working. Just to be sure, are those ork drum mags, or your own creation?

They are ork drum mags. I had to find some use for the Black Reach box!

Nice. Looks like I´m going to have to have a talk with my brother about his spare ork shootas.....
