They had a post about superheavies coming out, mentioning the stompa and that the Stormsword and Shadowsword are being done in plastic. Also the mention that the Valkyrie will come out with codex IG and that planetstrike should follow later.

Valkyrie rumour I can believe, I've seen the CAD drawing of the interior. The others are less reliable to me personally. More than anything I'd love to see a Stompa pop up though, would make both my brother and my girl very happy skins.

I dunno I don't think it would be too tough to make the baneblade variant.. they just make a new turret sprue with the barrels for each different gun and some other bitz mixed in, then sell it as a kit that can build one or the other. They're doing something like that with the Russ aren't they? selling a standard russ, then another kit that will let you build a demolisher or other variants?

I been hearing rumors of the Stompa since Apoc. with them boiling down to they couldn't get the models right. It is possible that they have finally got it to work. Or just more Greeny wishing.

I've seen an official GW CAD design of a horrible high-tech looking Leman Russ Executioner turret (the one with the Plasma Destroyer), so that could be in the codex next year as the mystery turret.

The Valkyrie, I believe. Tho, I fear for what it might look like. Hopefully, it's a direct translation of the FW model, like the SM Vindicator. If it's goofed up like the Baneblade, I'm going to be mightily pissed.

The Shadowsword seems to be a no-brainer, as it the Baneblade kit was specifically designed as a multi-use chassis and shaped for an alternate Shadowsword hull. GW just didn't want to tool up for them, as they weren't sure the Baneblade was going to be a runaway success. Plus, it allows GW to do a "Wave 2" release. Once the Shadowsword / Stormsword kit is released, FW conversions canl get even smaller and cheaper, so Superheavy companies can become far more common.

I think GW will try to get the Valkyrie as close to the FW one as possible. The main differences of the baneblade GW and FW made is more a matter of technology and the advantages of each of their respective manufacturing methods. So with that in mind its not completely fair to blame them for the aesthetic compromises because of that fact... the other stuff is fair game... like the lasgun on the back of the turret.

The FW Baneblade is crap compared to the GW version. I've got both of them side by side and I prefer the GW version, it has more detail and better parts for the price asked.

Yes, the plastic Baneblade has more detail, detail that is unnecessary and distracting. I much prefer the Mars pattern.

I paid 150 quid for a Lucius and I got a broken model that is woefully lacking in detail. For 60 quid I got a good kit with more detail and that can actually be assembled without needing to bend everything back into shape.

What exactly is 'goofed up' about the plastic Baneblade, DD?

Being the proud owner of many Baneblades, I can say without a shadow of a doubt I would swap my resin ones for the new plastic one any day of the week, even though the resin ones cost twice as much*. They look better. They go together better. Everything about them is better.

BYE

*To Clarify: I'd pay the resin price for the plastic kit, it's that much better.

I've been in this hobby 14 years, to date I've had the most fun and got the most enjoyment for my money out of the plastic baneblade kit. I'd build a whole company if I had the spare time and spare money to do so

I really hope they plasticify the variants.. if I have the cash when the time comes I'll gladly buy one.

I agree with Necros, I have three companies of Baneblades, the old Aurmorcast, plastic versions, and Forgeworld. I'll take the plastics over any of them!

This was a picture someone took at GDUK:
http://web.me.com/james.clay/GamesDay_2008/Photographs/Pages/Design_Studio.html#7

On the far right side of the picture, you can see the stormlords gatling heavy bolters. And below it appears to be the stormswords cannon.

The stormlord has already CAD drawings.
Stormsword siege cannon could be,but if there is a new set of super-heavies coming wouldn't someome ask about these pics at GD UK
and report anywhere? I've seen these pics before.Sadly no comments about the imperial weapons found. :S

Could spare some time with plastic shadowswords and other variants.
Maybe I should work faster on my conversions.

Those pictures came up and everyone said "neat CAD"... GW wasn't really talking about what they were, GW had these up as part of a setup to explain their CAD modeling.
The rumors of these superheavies came out after GDUK so it just a mater of no one knowing to ask.
