lets say for example that a land raider gets a weapon destroyed result, the other player decides to destroy the sponsens, would both lascannons be destroyed or would one still work? this cropped up in my last game and we and me and the person i was playing couldn't agree what would happen.

They are two separate weapons. They fire independently. So your opponent chooses the left sponson or the right sponson, not both.

Nope, Russ sponsons are two separate weapons.

He kills one side sponson..

On a standard Land Raider this is Leaving you with the other TL lascannon Side sponson and the TL heavy bolter functional.

Also just to make things clear, he kills both canons in a TL LAscannon Sponson. not just one cannon leaving you with a nonlinked weapon lascannon...

A rule of thumb: If they fire seperately, they count as seperate weapons.
