I just bought the kit yesterday, and I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to make it convertable between the two.

Or should I really just look for bits to create two seperate sponsons?

Unless you fabricate the 6 or so pieces of the 2 side sponsons, I'd say buying them would be a better option. The advertisements on this board usually have several sites which sell bits and you could try the 'swap' forum on these boards for the same bits. I'm guessing you need the upper and lower sections of the actual sponson and the center posts which holds the actual weapon.

As far as converting, once you get the necessary bits ofc, I would not actually glue the parts of the sponsons into the hull of the LR. After all the parts are painted, you should be able to just put the pieces into place w/o them falling off.

Another method would be to get some small 'rare earth' magnets and mount them into the hull and into the sponson pieces. 'Rare Earth' magnets are really small and powerful magents. I've only found them, of all places, in the cheap jewelry shops found in Malls. Usually they sell some earrings or crap like that for a dollar or so and you can just rip the magnets off the crappy jewelry. Maybe someone else will tell where a better place to get them at...I hate going into those stupid shops..

For all of my magnetic needs I go to http://www.kjmagnetics.com/, they have a very large selection of magnets and they are very strong.

Best of luck to you on the LR, once you get it done you should post some pics on here so we can see it

Get your magnets on ebay search for 'rare earth magnets' or 'NEODYMIUM' magnets... same thing different name...

You can also pay Lormax to do it, he has a thread in the swap shop.

I wouldn't expect pictures. A 2 year old with ADHD could paint better then I can. Thanks for the tips though.

I already tried, and I don't think its worth it, to use a magnet large enough to have the power to hold the weapon upright, you don't have enough material left in the upright "arm" the weapons attach to, to safely and reliably drill the hole. I'd suggest going to the War Store up above and dropping the cash to buy a second sponson set for the 30 or so bucks they want for it. My plan is to install some tiny magnets on the side of the upper tracks to magnetize the Assault Launchers, and pick up enough sponson kits so magnetize both my LR's to convert into any and all variants, by replacing the entire sponson assembly with a magnet behind the "shuttered" door the sponson glues to.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.
