Ok. Here's my list. It's an evolving monster, always open to C&C from the vets.

This is for 1500pts.

HQ- Daemon Prince- Wings, MoS, Lash- 150

Elite- 5 Termies- 1xchainfist, 4xCombi-Plasma, 1xHeavy Flamer- 190

Troop- 10 CSM- IoS, Aspiring Champ, 1xPowerfist, 1xflamer, Rhino- 255
10 CSM- IoCG, Aspiring Champ, 1xPowerfist, 2xplasmagun, Rhino- 265

Heavy- Defiler- TL Heavy Bolter switch- 150

Fast- 7 Raptors- Aspiring Champ, 1 set Lightning Claws, 2xflamer- 190

Lesser Daemon- 10 Daemonettes- 130--These are heavily negotiable.

Ok. So, that's it. I haven't gotten a chance to play with this list yet, as time has been rough. The daemonettes are an after thought. Picked up the metal box new for $5. I have a few other things I can swap out for, but, $$$ is tight, so, there are a few things I don't have. No havocs, so, there goes my heavy attack group, but, I do have 3 Oblits. I wanted to pick up a fourth, but, we'll see when that can happen.

So, pick it apart, and drop me suggestions. Be brutal. I can handle it.

Well, I'd take 2x2 Obliterators if you could buy the 4th.
Termies and Raptors are a bit much. I'd take Termies as they are a shock and awe unit. You could beef it up a bit.
Lesser Daemons suck. Drop them for another CSM squad.

I figured that about the Daemons. They do look cool though. I'll probably use them for more friendly games, or try to trade them away at the FLGS to a daemon player for some CSM stuff.

You are only cuming up to just over 1300 in this list.

Lesser demons and defilers do not do well on their own, nor does a single raptor squad of only 7.

I like a few units of basic csm, some will tell you to scrap them entirely, but I think they are ok. They do need support though, in the form of berzerkers or noise marines in rhinos or a land raider. The basic csm give you slightly versatile models that a re cheap and good for holding objectives etc. The thing they don't do is kill a whole bunch of stuff. Thats where demon princes and cult marines come into the equation. Shooting wise oblits are great too.

Here is an example of the kind of lists i run:

List one:

dp MOS lash wings
dp MOT warptime wings
2 x csm in rhinos (8 per squad and always with iocg melta and a fist)
zerkers in a rhino
terms in a landraider (4x LC + combi melta and chainfist champ)

List 2 replace terms and landraider with:
8 noisemarines with SB in rhino
8 more zerkers in rhino.

OR

2 squads of 8 raptors with fist and 2 melta

If you want to run defilers run two or three of them in the same list with lash sorcerers and oblits. You need something tought to keep the enemy distracted like terminators walking up to them or plague marines. THat wil lbuy you some shooting time. Even with 2 or three of them they are still fairly easy to shut down with anti tank fire.

Wow...my math sucks. It's been a week or two since I looked at that list, and I wrote it after the baby went to sleep at around 10pm, after a 13 hour day.

That sounds good...but, let me drop what I have.
I do have a squad of 10 'Zerkers, inc. a Skull Champ. The number of raptors is all I currently have. Unfortunately, I'd love to toss in some Noise or Plague marines, but, I have none. I can proxy them with the guys to test that tactics, but that's it for now. I'm waiting for the plastic DP before I look to get another, as I got the first primed for $5. Best deals I've gotten in this game so far from anyone. Penny pinching here people.

It looks good though. Next time I game, I'll do a few proxy runs to test the unit tactics, then go from there.

Any other ideas?

Play with what you have and definatly use those zerkers. Proxying is a great way to get a feel for something and see how it changes your game.

As long as you're having fun use what works for you. A lot of people are waiting for that Plastic DP! I told my FLGS to order a few extra since they are gonna fly off the shelves.

I have two FLGS's...one just told me today that they plan on dropping GW stuff in favor of a larger Warmachine game base. I like that store too. Better than the other. Better people. Oh well...internet orders..when the money's there...here I come...

Yeah..my buddies don't mind the proxy stuff, at least for playtesting. Hell, we tried an index card Land Raider for a few games before we rolled tanks to play with the rules. It is, quite literally, all fun and games. Until someone breaks out the flame thrower, then it's a bar-be-que. heh heh
