Had a chance to finish up a few more models (if I can make the Baltimore GT, I'll probably use one of these.)

The Bloodthirster:

I did some subtle stuff here. Since I had no intention of ever really using the Death Strike, upgrade, I decided to give him another close-in weapon for his left hand, and pinned a sword blade in so he's holding the blade inverted. I also did some work to the right arm so that he's holding the ax at the end of the swing, instead of ready to swing...I liked the feeling of motion a lot more. I also did some bending to reposition the wings so that they're a bit "fuller" and outswept, instead of swept back.

Oh, and for those that are interested, assembly took about 2.5 hours, and painting was about 4 hours over two days.

The Great Unclean One:

No conversions here. The model's reallly too massive without good "repositioning points" that make for easy conversions. So instead I decided to use this model to see whether the technique I used on the plaguebeares would scale up. Which it did, I think, quite nicely.

Total time on this model, maybe about an hour for assembly, and 3-4 hours of painting over two days.

I can't watch debates and the like and write batreps at the same time...

Prime and Basecoat black.

Drybrush Snakebite Leather, then Bubonic Brown, then Rotting Flesh. (progressively lighter at each stage)

Heavy wash /w Thraka Green. After it dries, wash Leviathan Purple. (again, lighter with the purple.)

Paint details as you wish, then wash details with Gryphone Sepia.

The guo looks great, but im more of a khorne fan, so its bloodthirster all the way for me.
I dont even know why you think you have problems with the red. The thirster looks great.

Thanks. I think I figured out a way to rapidly do reds that seems to work pretty well:
Mecharite Red -->Blood Red --> Burnt Orange --> Golden Yellow -->Badab Black wash. Then do details and wash appropriately.

Will be nice for the four more bloodcrushers I need to paint.

Cent99, I really like the basework done on the Bloodthirster. But the GUO looks liek its pooping the red stuff from the back, gives new meaning to wind of chaos.

Overall very nice job with the greater Deamons.

Were these also done using the bigbrush method? They do look good. I have to say, after getting Agustus to demonstrate it to me, I'm really liking the method!

I like the painting on them both, but I do prefer the original heads that came with the models when first released, especially the Unclean One who had something that looked a lot more like a face.

4 Bloodcrushers is it right now. Although I'm scrounging for the bits to do a Fateweaver, and I'll may eventually decide to add Slaaneshii elements.
