on a backpack that gw produces there are the symbole of the swedish scout assosiation (svenska scout förbundet) and i wonder if they care about the copyrights on that?...

thats a fleur de la...
a general symbol that features in alot of heraldry, it was also adopted by the scout movement (worldwide).
as far as i know there are no copyrights as any attempt to copyright by the scouts would have to fight hundreds of families with the fleur de la on their coat of arms.

Scouts never worried about copyright for me. They burned down my house, and then my family's house. Then they started on my friends' houses, my friends' friends' houses, and my old teachers' houses. Then they broke two of my Sisters of Battle models.

I changed to Chaos Marines instead.

It is a serious breach to use the Red Cross symbol for anything other than its intended purpose.

It is a protected symbol, that and the Red Crescent. These two symbols are protected by a level of international law way beyond any corporate logo.

The Red Cross can be used for historic reference purposes, but not for any other outside Red Cross duty.

If you use someone IP without permission you can get sued. If you misuse Red Cross logo you are in breach other Hague convention and the Red Cross can request the government of the country in which the infringement occurs to take action. It is a whole different level of problem.

Normally the ICRC dont get pissy about their logos and let most infrignements slide, though they have demaneded disclaimers and withdrawals on occassion.

It´s more a Teutonic Cross, the templar one was red on white while the Teutonic Knigts used a black on white cross. But anyway I heard that GWs is sending cease and desist letter to the Vatican for violating the copyright of the Black Templars, Dark Angels and Iron Knights distinctive heraldy

I take it no one has been to Mardi-Gras. I lived in Lousiana for a few years. You can't close your eyes & throw a rock without hitting somethig w/a Fleur- de-lis on it. It's like the official Cajun/Creole symbol of the whole state. ie the New Orleans Saints football team symbol.

Actually the Iron cross wasn't a Nazi symbol. It was a German symbol dating back to 1813.

Yeh neither was the swastika.
