OK let me give you an introduction to my problem

about once a month my buddies and i get togeather to play 40k.after we finish the game we always issue a challenge to each person
we got into playing apocalypse two months ago my first challenge was to build a scratch model for my necrons. i made a guass pulse projector i comverted a destroyer to make him hold a guass rocket launcher, and finally i made a anti aircraft gun out of 4 guass cannons.

after the session this week every one ganged up on me because im the new guy and i was challenged to make a new race and have a 1500 point army ready to play a game in 4 months

i have an idea for the race's name and one units of elites but besides that i am stumped. can some one please help me?

give us what you got so far so we can help build on it...

This is a ridicules challenge to make.
Just tell him your Race are giant clones that are S10 T10 and all have 8 wounds, 2+ Invulnerable saves with Fell no pain!

They are equipped with:

Void Blasters (48" S10 assault 20,blast,Rending)

Your HQ and troops come to 1500pts and consist of 3 models (1 HQ and 2 Troops)

If he doesn't like this tell him not to issue such stupid challenges!

or you can borrow my Necron super heavy and flyer!

While I applaude your creativity, and the fact that you've tried to at least have a weakness(that i'm sure involves your fluff somehow) realize that 1...just 1 squad of IG is killing that elite squad in one shooting phase....

i have a mock up model using some tau, eldar, and some chaos bits but it will take a while to get the final model

Yes, does everyone in the group get challenges of that magnitude and cost? Did they issue your challenge along with a request for an ID-10T form and a bucket of vacuum?

yes i agreed to this but i did it on a few conditions:
1: my friends had to contribute $50 each to the challenge to buy the supplies.(thas 600 dollars)
2: i was able to get unlimited access to each of thier bitz boxes.
3: i had 4 months to complete the profiles and to have a mock up of each model
4: i would cover any other costs that were necesary.
5: they would not laugh at my horrible conversion skills
so yes i did agree to this

Their basic rules have already been reviled. You just need to put a lick of gloss on them and collect some models.

Actually, I'd suggest Jokaero, because you can do *anything* with them and the Fluff allows it!

For the cost of a single box of Beastmen, he can have:

On the one hand, you're a fool to accept, but on the other hand, I know that I would too.

I don't know about you, but I'd roll out cones of sculpey, and then roll then into nautilus shells, which would serve as a shell for some sort of snail creature on the borders of the tau empire. Then you could have some sort of weapons mounting on the side, and some tentacles and maybe eyes sticking out of the opening of the shell. I suggest this because it would be fairly easy to make lots of them and you wouldn't have to just make them by cutting up something else and gluing a different head onto it. It would be cool, yet easy, and since the snailoids would have a shell, you could justify saying that they were really tough and had a really good armour save.

i like this idea too i think ill have 1 big one and model a bunch on swarm bases

ok id like a vehical now im thinking about some thing like a fast attack with one big wheel onlywith a cockpitt on both sides or something like that

I'm moving this to Proposed Rules, as it seems more appropriate.

'No helmet' is a pretty annoying rules description as it really targets specific modeling choices.. I know you mean that it's a gas attack, but it's one of those things that would really annoy people. It's (in game terms) as arbitrary as saying it doesn't effect anyone painted orange.

ok how about all organic models?

Again, that sounds like a very subjective choice. Offhand, I'd use the existing 'poison' rules like those used by Tyranids and such and stick to the the 'Necron Doctrine' that poison is substituted with an appropriate material for the setting.

If SpaM, Eldar, and my Steel legion paid a couple points for 'environmental armor' I'd have no problem with basing rules around it.
