There seems to be a gulf in the feelings for the new Battlewagon around the web.

I dislike the model, but I'm placing it in context with many of the Epic models from years gone by. I've never really caught the groove for the "Wots dis? Don know, weld it on over dat" style that GW has given the orks.

Is this an age thing?

I don't know, how old are you?

Anyway, I like it a lot, it looks good, and frankly, it looks better (less crap-weldy) than a lot of ork stuff out there. I have no problem with it, but then again, I don't really mind the random weld style.

I suppose it's how far you wanna take the ''nailed together'' look. The wagon looks pretty solid, but quite boatlike too. I think you need to strike a fine balance between looking mean, and going too far and looking like a grot cutta.

Hate the ork-speak more than anything else. I advocate less cockney football hooligan, more Jabba the Hutt.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

I didn't think it was orky enough when I first saw it but I think it looks good enough. I'm not an ork player though.

But, I actually think it would look pretty good as a half-track guard transport if you remove some orky stuff and add some imperialy stuff in it's place. Lets see how those orks like having their stuff looted for a change!

as an ork player i find that is OK, but i will be buyng it as a base to make my new battlewagons. my 2 old ones are faling apart and the new BW kit will serve me well as a base model to convert into a proppa battlewagon.

There ain't nearly enough Salvage in this thread!

Old enough to have played Rogue Trader and Adeptus Mechanicus when they were new.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

I like it. It's so much better than 99% of the home-made messes usually passed off as Battlewagons.

Orks regularly have their stuff looted ... usually by them stinky DeffSkulls!
I just can't see an Imperial Inquisitor looking over the plans of a Kustom BattleWagon, saying, "Hmmm ... maybe these Xenos have a point ... stop the Revered Land Raider Production, we have a new Pattern to build to!"

I've not seen the new BattleWagon "in the flesh" yet. Will be holding off judgement, but I'm not to inspired by the shape, it looks too tall for my liking.

Overall, I like it. But the rumoured absence of a deff rolla from the sprue is a nuisance. Perhaps this will be an add on kit like a razorback that will be released later.

The new ork vehicles are a vast improvement on the Gorkamorka left overs that they tried to pass off as proper 40K models during 3rd and 4th. That was the one thing that put me off collecting Orks in the past

Anyway, I shall be getting one. It's a lot better than anything I could scratch build.

I like it more for the bits and as a basis for a proper wagon. it is too small for my tastes. I think it is appropriate for a looted wagon though...

Mine will have a open passengerplatform and a lengthened and broadened (are those words ?? ) passengerplatform...

the front does look sufficient AV 14 though...

I think it looks great on it own, but as a springboard for further conversions it is great. The potential the kit has is great, just like the Trukk kit.

A friend of mine has 6 Trukks, and not a single one is the same. He even made one look like a WWII anphibious landing craft (w/wheels) without using parts from any other kit besides the Trukk. They look great.

The same can be done with the Trukk, and when the Stompa kit comes out, it just gets better. People will be able to make Ork Cities of Death terrain using the Stompa and Battlewagon kits.

I resemble that remark! I made one from a 1/35 scale king tiger tank model that I bout at Wal-Mart, but it's gonna be retired pretty soon.

I think its cool, but looks kinda immobile. Like an ork outpost rather then a battle wagon. But i would still buy it cause its far superior to nothing.

It looks fine to me. Very solid; very tough. I wish there was a death-rolla, though.

From what I've seen I like the look of the kit,but what I'm most excited about is the potential for kit bashing and customizing,oh yeah I'll be getting at least two of them.

I like that they have a kit for those too intimidated at the thought of scratchbuilding or kit-bashing.

I, too, am frustrated by the 'Beyond Thunderdome'/'chitty-chitty bang-bang' look to Ork Vehicles. Say what you will about the Gorkamorka vehicles, they at least look like they were meant to go together. I'd much rather see something like what this guy did, with a solid military, albeit feral, look.

It was not what I was expecting... Looks a lot like an armored hilly billy station wagon I saw at an armory in WVA once while on a stroll through the mountains. Did you know that if the state of WVA was flattened out it would be bigger than Texas? Bigger than Texas... Sounds like a paradigm. Hee!

Anyways I like it a lot... Orks are the hilly billies of 40k.

I'm pretty disapointed with the model, honestly. It's just another Trukk to me, not a Battlewagon.

Man, that's the joy of Anime! To revel in the complete and utter wastefullness of making an unstoppable nuclear-powered combat andriod in the shape of a cute little girl, who has the ability to fall in love and wears an enormous bow in her hair.

Yeah I've got to ask - what were people expecting?

If people were expecting a Battle Fortress, then I think they had their hopes up a little too high.

Well, I am not an Ork player and I kinda like it. I was even thinking of picking one up and converting it (i.e. De-Orkify it) to use in my IG army.

I'll probably get one just for the scrap parts. I'd never field it as is, I just don't care for it.

I am not too fond of it. It looks decent, but didn't really click with what I thought would embody ork transportation. To me, I imagine the AV14 front would resemble a wall of metal similar to an Vindicator's dozer blade except many things welded together.
