Overall, I like the new Battle Wagon kit. It looks like its got lots of potential. I will definately be getting one and I can see myself using every last scrap of plastic inside the box (yes I even use the sprues to make rubble). All those bits are going to be great when combined with cities of death pieces to make orky ruins, barricades and other useful terrain.
If you bought three or four of them you could make a pretty fierce Ork battle train (for apocalypse perhaps). The basic design reminds me of some kind of locomotive.
Now I do have a custom built battlewagon which I think is great (look here if you're interested:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/221569.page). My current Battlewagon is armed with a Killcannon, so once I get the new kit I'll do it up without Killcannon (or I might magnetize it for flexability).
This leads to my only real gripe about this new kit (and the Ork trukk kit too), there's no way 20 Orks are gonna fit into the back of that thing. I'm gonna have to expand the cargo area so that I can fit all my models into it. This, in my opinion, is an essential feature of open topped vehicles (and I will model it open top). I don't think that's going to be a real problem though, the model actually looks a bit to long and narrow in my opinion, so it could use a little fattening up.
Incidently, anyone know of the actual dimensions of this thing?
In the end I'll probaly end up grabbing at least two of these bad boys. One for my second Battlewagon and one to convert some other Ork vehicles and scenery. I still need to make a looted wagon for my Burna Boyz. Those battlewagon tracks would look pretty cool as the tracks of a converted Rhino.
