Yeah,
I've been tinkering with a Grot list... I know it's not that original a idea, but still I think Grots are cool... even if a bit useless.
It's a force of grots who 'iz sick of follow'n dem orks!'
So it's will have a converted MEk and converted herders and buggys crew... All GRots...
but i've tried to keep actual ORKs stats in the list to a minimum...

for the next 500pts i'll add another mek plus dred and I was also thinking grot copters or Grot Lootas would be cool...
A Grot with SAG would be made of win!

quick check of the codex ... one deff dred per big mek ... best you can do is lose one deff dred and get another big mek ...
will this army work? could do ... i think you need a some thing to protect you're gretchin since they're you're only scoring units (dreads can't score only contest)

Meks can't take MegaArmor, right? Pretty sure. 'Dex is at home, but you can doublecheck.
Also, drop it to 29 Grots, so you only need 2 Runtherds. I try to run all the same weapons on my units, so I would make each Dread the same, such as 2 DCCWs, 2 KMBs and make the Kans like as well. 2 Squadrons with Zookas and 1 with Rokkits.
You really want a Big Mek w/ KFF, to give your big walking targets something to keep them alive until they get close enough to use their weapons and assault.
Just some thoughts.

yeah,
thanx for the input guys.
I've updated the list (above in the first post)
I've lowered the limit to 1000pts, since this is the staring point for a new army... I plan to stretch the list to 1500 later...
dropped the number of grots in each squad.
and taken the KFF
I've bought almost all of this now, just chasing after about 20 more grots...
I'm Not sure what the game plan will be, I figure make a battle line with the walkers and march them!
the Ork codex has no strength 9 guns and I'm a bit worried they don't have enough Anti-tank...
Panic...

TBH, Gretchin troops are only good to hold objectives, so I'd take that into account, reduce troop gretchin and capitalize on the rest of the grot army:

your list looks good...
a SAG seems like a good option. can be up to str10.
I've been thinking about SAG convertions, a base with 4/5 grots all holding / operating the gun could look cool.
For a the expanded 1500 list - 2 MEKs (1 KFF and 1 SAG) and two deff dreads...
