Ok so I'm making a new space marine army, I have 8 tactical squad boxes a command squad, a commander, scouts, ten terminators and two assault squads. Right now I don't wanna go for a singular colour scheme I want an army that is made up of multiple chapters. So far I have painted one squad of normal marines and painted them up in the first founding colours and need some other chapter colours for the rest.

My space marines' fluff is that they been summoned from the past, present and future to help assist my librariian Vladimir in recovering an item forged by the early humans that could destroy entire systems.

so basically you want a color scheme that can some how unify different
colored chapters from different time lines ? o_o

k i have an idea for you ^-^

take some veteran or dark angel models. ( or anything that has robe / tabard on it )

this way you can paint the robe / tabard as one unify color .
this would be more realstic then having all the different chapters repainting their armor imo.

Thanks think i will use that for my command and sergeants, painted another tactical squad and this time 21st founding with some other foundings will post pics up soon

Eventually I am going to run out of colour schemes for each marine so I am going to ask for some of dakka dakka members colour scheme for my army if they would allow. Note any colour would be fine and a pic of the chapter symbol. For example if I decide to use Doc thunder's black widows if he allows me I would paint a figure up like his or if I paint up Grey death's marine. Of course I have to convert the black widow marine with some boobs but that would take a small amount of time

And the item is not a death star/s it is actually an old spaceship that was made a few centuries ahead of us that crashed on a planet known as qward IV which then the settlers on the ship turned into a death starish/unicronish,glactusish machine that goes around and destroys systems for no good reason as of now

Black with Scorpion Green trim looks pretty cool. As does a medium grey with a Jade Green/Scaly Green accent.

Another good way is to paint one of the shoulderpads the army unifying colour. I have 4th company UM and any veterans that are attached paint thier left shoulder pad green with the white border on the shoulder pad. I will also paint knee pads (only one) green for the 4th company. May not be strictly codex but I think it works to bring together the detached first company vets with the 4th company marines.

Yes time travelling sorta, just got bored and thought I like the alpha legion and the fire hawks but I cant use them in a normal space marine army because the Alpha legion is traitors and the fire hawks are the legion of the damned so I decided to make them plucked out of their time so I can use them. I mean I have a squad of death company and half of them are blood angels while the other half are pre heresy world eaters who were plucked from a campaign to help my librarian oh and I sorta cant make a proper colour scheme because I dont have a proper sense of colour

Imperial [Guard Heavy Weapon Crewman], if you just want a big gallery of chapters for inspiration, best place to start is GW's chapter gallery here.

I like the idea of a call to arms.

I feel that each member really should be unified by some sort of fabric/ceremonial garment/masonic artefact!

"The time of reckoning is upon us brothers, let us unite against this ungodly threat"

or

"Power Rangers Combine!"

Oli: Can I be an orc?
Everyone: No.
Oli: But it fits through the doors, Look!

lets jeep the fluff to a minumum we don't need to end up with another btiching contest like on fem-marines.

i suggest maybe fiddling with paint schemes that alreayd exist or do somthign like the deathwatch which is have orignal chapter colour on one shoulderpad with possibly with chapter symbol and then the rest of the arour what ever colour scheme your unfied force fights under.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

ok... do whatever you want with the rest of the army.

but one squad MUST be the emperors pointy sticks... and another HAS to be the pointy sticks of the emperor..
