all the white dog turds go? I remember as a kid seeing them everywhere. Now they are no where to be seen. I mean they were everywhere! I wonder if it was caused by an ingredient in the dog food that they no longer use. Maybe something added to make them more bio-degradeable. Any thoughts on this guys?

Nobody gives bones to their dogs anymore, so the pigment doesen't pass through.

Yeah people buy thier dogs Fancy food. My dog Scruffy only eats left overs and Small woodland critters he can catch in the garden, so he has the white poop of doom sometimes.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

That's because the bones of chickens and other fowl can kill them(bones that they can easily break apart and swallow are not for dogs). That said, my dogs chew ham and steak bones whenever we get meat that contains them. Also, they love rawhide "bone" chews.

It's the cooked chicken bones that are bad for them - RAW chicken bones never did any of my family's dogs any harm (can't say the same for the neighbourhood traffic, though.)

We used to give our dogs bone scraps all the time (dad liked to bone his own roasts, rather than have the butcher do it, and he'd go out fishing and come home with fish for us and for the cat and dog as well and they had white poop. The white isn't so much a pigment, as the calcium salts oxidising.

These days, less people give their mutts bones, only "nutritionally balanced" kibble or mush. Consequently, they're a lot harder to scoop up as well (or well, not harder - just mushier and more difficult to pick up and dispose of).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

My little sister used to try to eat the white ones, but parents stepped in. I understand that she thought rabbit droppings were sultanas, but the taste!?!

Back in 1998 SKY Magazine (now sadly defunct) asked that very question.

So its been a few years since white dog poo disapeared.

However I saw some a few weeks ago.
But that's the first time I'd seen it in about 10 years.

Sounds like a case of Bramble Mags.

When you are a kid, any foray into any woodland would inevitably yield a stash of hastily torn and shredded, umm...Gentlemans Relish.

Yet the second you have made your first, highly embarassing procurement of scud mag, you no longer find Bramble....never again!

Perhaps it is vaguely the same with the white doggy poo? Or perhaps we just live in cleaner times where the poop does not get a chance to be bleached by the sun?

I think its becuse there are stricter rules in having to clear dog poo up so there is prob the same amount (well prob more) in landfills around the globe

I give my Dachshunds "nutritionally balanced kibble" specifically formulated to help prevent back problems. I've never had a problem with their poo being any harder to scoop up than any other dogs. I've never run into this "mushy" problem, I can even pick it up fresh with toilet paper and not have any residue left on the floor, it comes up solid and clean.

When i get old and cranky I'll talk to my grandkids about how things were so much better back when we had white dog poop.
