As some might remember, back in 2004 Black Library released an extra special limited edition of the woobie saga book Traitor General. It was an expensive leather bound book that came with a little bonus: a complete soundtrack by John Bergin. This track was exclusive to this edition of the book and hasn't been seen again since then.

This morning I was cleaning out old bookmarks and stumbled upon John's site, where I found that he had the entire soundtrack of the book up for grabs. It's quite a hefty download for some people (140 MB) and the music featured there might be a tad, different from what people are used to.

You can find the tracks in one handy file here.

John's site can be found here.

Tastes differ comrade, I find some of them pleasing to listen to, others are horrible pieces of audio dung.

Indeed, interesting is the right word. It certainly fits the description Soundtrack, and it sounds like it would fit to a 40k novel, altough I haven't read traitor general. I guess I will use some of it for roleplaying music.

Well, "There Are No Miracles (Only Men)" is as good as I remember it to be. The rest is well, to put in the words of my better half: as cringingly cheesy as that HH audio book or the aborted attempt at race specific soundtracks back in the 90's. How many people remember the Dark Eldar theme were some bloke would whisper Warhammer into the mic every so often while listen to a synthesiser play in oooooh, dark tones?

I've just had a quick listen to this, it's very Soul Reaver-esque. Which is a good thing.

So, has anyone tried listening to the soundtrack and reading the book at the same time? Does it actually enhance the experience?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Hmm, I listened to the soundtrack, it sounds good but nothing really unexpected. I mean every song had that vibe of "ok, I already saw this one coming a mile away", know what I mean?
