Heroes, but it's much better in my estimation, and unlike Lost, each season has at least some sort of closure, whereas Lost just strings you along, each answer causing three more questions to pop up. And the 'monster' was disappointing.

Heroes, Prison Break, 24. All long duration serial dramas with large production values and cliffhanger style episodes.

If you want something more specific, I dont know of any similar storylined tv series no.

The Prisoner.

There's a remake of it next year too.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Isn't there a weird recommended viewing order for The Prisoner?

And they're remaking it? Wow.

The Prisoner is way better than Lost. No comparison, in my opinion. We'll see about the remake, though it seems like there will be only one #2, which is strange.

I would also suggest Heroes, but only the first season, the second and third aren't nearly as good.

A remake of The Prisoner is just more evidence of the current near-bankrupt status of TV drama imagination.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I loved Twin Peaks and would like to rewatch someday. I haven't seen it since ?1990?

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

Really, I'd say TV is lot more imaginative now that it has been in the past. Not that TV is all that experimental now, but the standard set by past decades is woefully low.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

I would say Heroes season 1, the other 2 are dumb.

Battlestar Galactica is worth checking out, the new one.

/sarcasm on
Yeah, the first season and the 3 pilot episodes, then maybe half of season two. After that, if you enjoy a gakky space soap opera, then by all means enjoy the networked POS excuse for a science fiction show.

The rest of us will be enjoying Red Dwarf reruns until death, or something better gets us.

It's not imaginative to remake a series made in the 1960s. Imaginative is a series like Life On Mars.

Yes. Red Dwarf. Apart from the point Kochanski turns up, which signalled the demise of an otherwise entertaining show.

And there is always Babylon 5.

I'd second Babylon 5, or at least the first four seasons. Red Dwarf goes down hill after series two when Norman Lovett leaves and it stops thinking it's a sitcom about a guy who happens to live on a spaceship and starts thinking it's the new hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.

To recap, Seasons one to four of Babylon 5 and Series one and two of Red Dwarf are must see television.

To be fair on B5, the 5th season isn't all that bad when you consider the history.

Originally written, planned and pitched as a 5 series story arc, the first 3 progressed as planned. Then, the Network decided they could only have one more season, so the events of the last two were condensed into Season 4. Then, in their infinite, ineffable wisdom, the Network decide they can have their 5th Series after all, leaving the writes in a panic!
