By the by, this is the first time that I can recall that a new rules release (Codex or Army book) included unrealeased minis, is this so?

When is the daemon prince box supposed to finally become available?

I saw these pictures quite awhile ago and since I saw them I have been wondering when this DP will see release. I want them so badly!

i think he looks pretty cool, nd for a plastic kit you can do a lot with it, who knows what other options there are with it.

I'll be buying them for my 40k army (daemons).

No, I didn't.
I don't like the stance of the 2nd model.

I wonder if they model is pants, or if the paintjob does that. At least with Privateer Press, they've had a number of models that looked junkish on the previews, and when painted in some different schemes by others, it is at least a solid mediocre.

It's the heads that are the problem. They look like gak, pure and simple. Rest of it is workable.

So your saying needs more grim/dark?

I don't really know where all the hate for this kit is coming from. I think it looks a lot better than the crappy static demon prince we have now. The legs are swappable, so are the heads and you can convert up a lot of things that will mesh well with this kit.

H.B.M.C. hit it on the head...

The heads are horrible. As a focal point of the model, well, it isn't a great selling point.

Except maybe for a laxative.

More a joke than anything else. It's the first Chaos model (especially HQ) I've seen since 2nd edition that wasn't covered head-to-toe in either skulls, spikes, or skulls on spikes. It's not that bad a model, but it's not very good either.

I like this thing, what makes it so bad? The heads are all right. I'll give you a ding to the model based on the sort of static heads we see available. But come on, it's a nice looking model. Very imposing, very scary, very strong looking. It's all the things a Demon Prince should be. Much better than the giant Space Marine armored DP with the one stupid looking head we have now.

I really like this model. It isn't over the top ridiculous like some demon princes and other powerful daemons have been.

Might pick this up for D&D.

there is nothing wrong with the quality of the model imo.

but it just lacks the pose of a command figure.
you know like... those regal pose the current:

lord on juggernaut , lord on demon steed have

its almost like this model is just another RnF model.
but another thing im happy about is, its not another POINTING FINGER
pose lol they are everywhere now days for GW minis

:S I'm sort of mixed on this model, H.B.M.C is right, the heads are real bad, remind me of bad 80's horror movies, however,I can see the potential for some cool conversions.
I supose sometimes a kit should not only be judged by what it is,but what it can be.

I'm sorry sir, but he's correct. That thing looks miserable, and by comparison these are masterpieces.

These will definitely have good conversion possibilities with soul grinders.

I wonder whether they'll be compatible with the Spawn kit. The shoulders look to be of similar design. The Fly-head on the Spawn sprue would make a wicked Daemon Prince head.

From the looks of things you've got:

  • Legs.

  • Body.

  • Weaponless Arm.

  • Axe arm.

  • Sword arm.

  • Crap Head #1

  • Crap Head #2

  • Wings or Spiky crap.

  • Shoulder Spike or no shoulder spike.

  • Quite sad given what the Spawn kit had on it.

I can't believe you people don't like the super 40k space marine demon prince. That was literally the coolest model to ever be produced in all of gaming when it came out! No more silly fantasy demons or crap conversions or counts as greater demon stand ins for 40k princes, and they looked hella cool too. That model is great.

This model looks to be an emulation of belakor, but the sharp edges and harsh detail of the model (plus the horrible eavy metal scheme reminscient of the purple/white tyranids) make it really look...overly cartoony and fake. The wings especially. The heads also feel very uninspired. Aside from that, its not a bad model per se, its just not really all that cool. It's definetely a demon prince though, so I guess it is what it's supposed to be.

And tail. Yeah the heads could be better, but if we're lucky it may come with more options.

I like him. He was a great model, especially compared to the ultra-fugly anorexic metal fantasy DP's that existed at the time.
