I'm with Whitedragon here - I bleedin' love the power armoured Daemon Prince model. It wasn't versatile, I'll admit, but it made up for that with sheer badassery.

I'm not a fan of the spread legs pose - unless he's Nurgle about to do a poo, or Slaanesh about to do something kinky Hmm, there are some basing ideas...

The heads aren't great, I'm thinking swapping them for a spare Defiler head or similar.

Otherwise a great bsae for a conversion - but of course a model that looked great unconverted would be better

It's funny, I thought a lot of people were saying how cool this DP kit was when this same picture was posted on the old WHFB Chaos rumor thread (before the first wave was released).

I don't really think the heads are that bad, but I don't really think they're good either. Definitely better than the old fantasy DPs, and the wings are nice too. I'm sure this kit will be good for conversion fodder, if nothing else. That said, I like the new mounted Chaos Lord better (x2) for an HQ piece, and for my money, I'd much rather buy the Chaos Lord. I've never really been into DPs though, (well, not the GW models anyway).

I was thinking,considering what GW is doing with the Battlewagon,releasing the kit and then offering a direct order only "additional bits you really want" frame.
Maybe we will see the same thing here,a "cult specific" sprue perhaps,with various Nurgle,Khorne,Tzeentch& Slaanesh bits options.

Aye, it's a sad day when a Juan Diaz sculpt is called crap and these new DPs are called "Masterpieces". I may be wrong, but it looks like more Mark Harrison work to me, as these DPs are as dull and unintersting as the rest of his work on the Chaos line (save the Possessed).

I loved that old power armoured Daemon Prince, and I don't hate ths new kit. I'd prefer an Ultraforge Daemon Prince but this ain't bad.
Certainly better than the metal GDs and DPs.

Oh, as far as a rules release containing unreleased models, the Defiler kit came out after the chaos codex it's rules were in.

I love it, I just hope there's more head options. I'm already planning on picking up at least 2 to accompany Belakor in my 40K Daemons or Legendary Battle Fantasy fights.

Plastic Balrogs make great DPs.

Going to have to get my monitor checked out. The heads on my screen look fine to me, so the image is clearly being distorted.

Seriously, GW has done a lot worse e.g. Vespids or The Possessed models that were released for the Medusa Campaign.

What you need more head option for? You have happy head for when daemon happy and angry head for when daemon angry!

they might make a good generic greater daemon for chaos marines for those who use them
