Yah, Transformers was good. But nothing was better than The Dark Knight... I feel sorry for the guy that played the Joker - he died, yet still about 80% of the people I know and saw this movie didn't know his name.

really? I can't say how big he was any where else, but he was well known and his death was a bit of a shock.

I'm curretnly watching the making-of. It's really great how much "physical" action there still was in this movie. Sure, the robots were CGI, but all the explosions and cars flying through the air were the real deal.
I can't wait for the next one.

I'm a massive Transformers fan, and I really think the fans who sit there and say this movie was terrible are really missing something.
No its wasn't Gen1, but for goodness sake it was still pretty damned good, and had more than a few nods to the older fans of the series.

As a version of Transformers franchise though I must say it is one of my fave movies atm, and was 100% better than any of the nonsense that came out of Japan in reccent years.

I personally can't wait for June next year for Revenge of the Fallen, in which it seems we will be seeing Soundwave at long last.

Better than a 40' one, or whatever he was as a Headmaster. Although saying that I think I would have prefered it had he been his true size.

I have a cousin in LA that does CGI, she worked on transformers for CGI lighting and I think she did some work on the 2nd one too.. but right now she's working on GI Joe I really hope that one doesn't suck.

I thought the transformers movie was awesome too. I'm a die hard fan of the old cartoon. I even have an optimus prime ringtone on my celly and I don't care when people laugh at me every time I get a phone call.

The movie would be good if it wasn't for the FBI guy, the whole "this matrix powers up thingies so they become violent human killers" and the idiotic romance "side-story" (more like main story) with the detestable Shia LaBeouf.

The Transformer parts are very well done but I won't fool myself saying it was good just because it was a Transformers movie. The soundtrack didn't even leave a mark and I couldn't simpathize with any of the human characters.

I thought that, when the Final Fantasy movie was coming out, it'd be the greatest. Then, Advent Children. Then, the Corpse Bride. I found that my favourite movies end up being the most unexpected ones (Lucky Number Slevin, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Big Fish, La Vita É Bella) and never the ones related to anything from my childhood (well, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were an obvious exception, apart from the 3rd )

Well its an amusing and entertaining little movie, but best movie ever? I doubt it was the best movie out that week.

I still can't believe they killed Ironhide. A little piece of me dies everytime.

Ironhide would have been a better death especially if they'd fleshed out his personality a little more.

Final Fantasy was great until they went into all the lame 'earth mother/ghia' stuff at the end.

Transformers was a huge turdburger, and GI Joe (from the director of Van Helsing) is going to be undiluted spank-bake.

The film being boring had nothing to do with Gen1 or anything else. It had to do with a script that was written in crayon.

GI Joe? I´m skipping that one. Will they shoot stun rays in the movie too?

They killed Jazz in the new movie so they could show how EVIL Megatron was. Very evil. EVIL, that is.

One thing the new movie had going for it was all the mindless Decepticons.

I wonder how much it would cost to buy Megan Fox.

@Takobake: Should’ve made it clear you were referring to the carton movie. Ironhide dies in the Autobot 'old stock clearout scene' you're too attached to a robot with a crap toy. Ten minutes later the most important death in Transformers history occurs.

Optimus? He comes back anyway. He had to die in order to have a memorable sacrifice. That, and Rodimus defeating Unicron. No Optimus, no movie.

Ironhide was just sad. Or maybe it is just something you apreciate as you get older.

Of course he probably would have argued with Rodimus. Ironhide, that is.

I think I was more gutted over Wheeljack, you didn't even see what happened to him, just Arcee noticing him on the floor.
