Glaive and I, rolled a 6 for Annihilation and a 6 for Dawn of War, decided to play a game IG vs CSM(Nurgle Type).

The lords of Chaos desperately looking to find any sort of Jaeger in the galaxy, seeing as Abaddon failed to bring some back on his last mission, decided to stop to check out the University of Military Technologies institute(UMTI) . Everyone knows that since there are two all female institutes right next to UMTI, the planet of Alpha Gamma Theta has its reputation of long nights of parties and drinking. This is where Klamidia, Daemon Prince of Nurgle, and his pal Burning Sensation, Daemon Prince of Slaanash, decide to check out the institute for some Jaeger. When they arrived to the planet the unthinkable happened. The only form of alcohol on the planet was PBR. This made Klamidia and Burning Sensation furious and decided to destroy the entire planet and everything on it (Don’t worry the female institutes are out for the holidays).

CSM List:
Klamidia – Nurgle Daemon Prince: Flight and Warptime.
Burning Sensation – Slaanash Daemon Prince – Flight and Lash
10 Plague Marines x2 with Melta.
8 Plague Marines x2 one squad with Melta.
4 Rhinos with Extra Armor.
3 Obliterators
5 Raptors with Champion and Meltabomb.
DEPLOYMENT:

Dawn of War, my favorite when using daemons, Glaive positions 20 guys in the center, 10 on the first floor and 10 on the top floor. 25 guys on the far left, 5 guys in the building closer to the middle, 10 guys in the ruins on the back left, and 10 more guys behind a fence. A squad with lascannon on the right, this essentially created a great ambush alley for my CSM to avoid, right? Nope! I position two Rhinos filled with plague marines in the ambush alley, peacefully looking for Jaeger, and Klamidia behind a fence to relieve himself.
Top Turn 1:
Out of nowhere, two Leman Russ Demolishers show up along with a Battle Tank. In the distant Rough Riders show up and some Veteran squads join the oncoming battle as well, but this is all unknown to the CSM because with sun still not out yet, they are still oblivious to the fact that they are in the middle of ambush alley. Out of nowhere, a missile launcher fires into the lead Rhino, glance leaving it unable to shoot.

Bottom Turn 1:
Obliterators show up with some Raptors, so does two more Rhinos. Klamidia starts off with Warptime and moves forward towards the IG with the Lascannon. One Obliterator fires into the center area, but does nothing and Klamidia Charges into the group with the Las Cannon for a potential Massacre. He kills 3 guard and they decide they have a chance and stay in close combat doing no damage.

Top of Turn 2:
Rough Riders advance and the Guard continue shooting. Lemon Russ disables the lead Rhino, while the other kills some Raptors. Klamidia swings to kill the remainder of the IG in close combat and trips on his own feet.

Bottom Turn 2:
Rhinos advance and for some reason the Plague Marines forget to exit the Rhino. Squad on the bottom floor in middle get lashed, while Rhinos fire in Unit’s on the top and bottom floor, killing one on each floor. Sheepishly, Klamdia finishes the last two guys and takes some cover. The Raptors Squad assault into some cover; after killing 2 guys they run away.

Top Turn 3:
Rough Riders move forward. Armor move around to open Range from big guys, while the Raptors take some Las shots and Krak shots.
*Prediction: Glaive says he will only stun a Rhino with all his shots.
This in fact comes true, all his armor does no damage, but a krak missile stuns a rhino, but this Rhino was already disabled. Klamidia takes another wound from the Veteran squadron.

Bottom of Turn 3:
I continue to move rhinos forward. I position one Rhino directly in front of his Hell Hound. Raptors kill the 3 guys who ran away with bolters. Plague Marines rush out of Rhinos; one Squad unloads meltaguns at Point blank and destroys the Inferno Cannon and leaving the crew stunned while the other destroyed the unit on the lower level. Obliterators did nothing, while Burning Sensation Lashed the Veterans, but missed the charge. Klamidia assaulted the Demolisher destroying the big gun.

Turn 4 top:
Rough Riders move into position to attack the Raptor Squad which they succeed in doing, A lot of misses this turn for IG. Klamidia takes 2 more wounds from the Veterans. Battle Cannon launches into a squad of Plague Marines killing every one of them except 1.

Turn 4 Bottom:
The last plague marine jumps into Rhino and in a rush to get out of LOS of the Battle Cannon, the Rhino knocks it’s tracks off. Obliterator kills 4 Rough Riders and a nearby Rhino kills the RR. Another Obliterator Destroys the other Demolisher Leman Russ. Burning Sensation charges into the Veteran Squad killing all but one who runs away. Klamidia destroys the Leman Russ Demolisher he’s been working on for a while, leaving nothing but metal everywhere.

Turn 5 Top:
Obliterator destroyed with a Las Cannon and Plasma gun. Rhino gets stunned from Krak fire. As the last remainder veteran guy was running away, he blindly fires at Klamidia, killing him.

Turn 5 Bottom:
Obliterator fires at the Demolisher shaking the crew, while the Plague Marines continue working on the Hell Hound, convince this is where the Jaeger is at. Burning Sensation destroys the Battle Cannon and disables the Battle Tank. The Plague Marines on the far right jump out of the Rhino and fire into a group of IG. Killing 2 of them.
At that moment, the Plague Marine who crashed into the building with the Rhino notices a wall come down. Behind this wall is tons of Jaeger.
“Jaeger” He yells to his friends. (Basically we rolled to continue and had to end the game).

CSM 9 – IG 3.
This game seemed closer, he still had tons of Troops laying around and he was definitely slowing taking me out. All and all this was a fun game. I kind of focused destroying armor because I love destroying armor in close combat.

Great BR!

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

Dude, you totally killed me in that game. That one had everything that I hate! I had to start with my armor off-table and the stuff I did have out there had to contend with night-fighting! Bad dice rolls plus overall bad generalship on my part didn't do my poor guard any favors either. You had me outclassed that entire game.

Nice batrep though!

Coincidentally, there is a thread going on in YMDC about guard platoons having to choose a single squad to come in instead of the entire platoon. If that's true I guess I kind of screwed you on that. Of course, that would have probably just kept a few of my own units out of harm's way for a bit longer!

Well if it is any consolation, he had too many units deployed as well -- dedicated transports count toward the 2 unit max. It is literally two units, not two FOC choices.

Also you have to deploy more then 18" away from an enemy in Dawn of War, so there's no way Klamidia could get a charge off first turn.

nonetheless that is a great batrep and sounds like you guys have a good time. Makes me wanna pick up some jaeger for new years.

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."

yeah,
cool batrep with cool maps.
I hate dawn of war... night fighting and bringing your army in on turn one.
Jaeger, one of the better reasons to go to war.

Panic.

Thanks about the Rhinos information I'll remember that next time.

about the charge, I just reread that part, it's more then 18inches, I measured exactly 18inches. If I would've read that correctly I would've used Burning Sensation for Lash, but it was all for fun, and I had a blast. Thanks for the information, I'll remember it for the future.

Oh Yeah! Thanks to Glaive for making me the cool maps.

I use Photoshop for the background and then just import the image into Visio where the unit icons are.
